I disagree, I think they should see just how user unfriendly they can make it. They've outdone themselves in terms of removing useful standard features like automation, mousewheel/trackpad control, touch screen compatibility, aftertouch, user banks. I think they should take it even further and get rid of presets entirely and not even allow automation of the macros. And they should reduce it to two macros. No that's too many. Just one. And it should only go to half.Danilo Villanova wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:12 pm Please make the parameters mappable so I can control it with my encoders and tablet!!![]()

Yeah not having ALL the knobs and features mappable or automatable is just incredibly bizarre. It's by far the worst part of Massive X in my opinion.

if it's too hard to implement because of the modular architecture, why not have a bunch of mappable slots so that we can build are own custom mappings a la Kontakt?

After this update, I've noticed 2 things. Some of my own patches have had macros turned completely 'off', so opening them and playing is greeted by silence. And also, they sort of sound different, particularly when routing oscillator 2 to the PM bus to affect osc 1. It's as if the FM amount rapidly scans up to the level I've set it each time I hit a note. I've turned on the reset all function and no difference. In fact, the actual fm itself sounded a bit different. I could be imagining things though.

That was the point of the release, to show life! MX will continue to be worked on.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 1:17 pmIndeed! Despite falling short of user requests, it shows that MX is an ongoing concern.

It's one of THE best synths out there, hardware or software! Period.EvilDragon wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 8:34 pmThat was the point of the release, to show life! Please, if you have any pull at all within the company, please please please let us assign midi CC to all knobs n sliders on the UI and also let us automate them all from within the DAW. This is one of those synths that I would seriously consider building a custom midi controller for.
.. actually, I wouldn't mind paying 1500$+ for a hardware Massive X synth. Imagine it with a bunch of knobs and a some clever way of doing all the free routing.
It really is such a stupidly good synthesizer that it's so damn painful when it has these very strange omissions that have been available in the previous Massive (which is also still a really impressive synth too!).

I don't really have any pull within NI ^_^;
However, NI is aware of the most often requested features.

And do away with the GUI, make it command line only.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:53 pmI disagree, I think they should see just how user unfriendly they can make it. Only works on BeOS.

I like massive X a lot.
Hopefully the serum 2 release, which finally caught up with OG Massive with 3 oscs and dual filters will be the kick in the balls NI needs to finally make Massive X into Massive 2.
3 oscs, dual filters, better LFOs, some big improvements to the steppers/sequence section and we'll be most of the way there.
Go 4 oscs, treble filters and make a Massive XX. Do it!

This happens to me also. I thought it was because I had something set to Keyboard focus, but I don't know.Daru925 wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:20 pm Anyone has this issue btw?
Maybe its because i use ableton live (daw specific), but if i click the arrow icons on the interface, any arrow icon wavetable/presets, then press spacebar, it selects the next item (wavetable or preset), which is a bit annoying because i want to start/stop transport, not lose the preset i was crafting :p
I have to click outside the window first, and sometimes i forget...![]()
(Its been there for a while and i see no report bug thread on NI forums. )
