[Moved from the wrong topic]
Amplitube Jimi Hendrix
XT2 and eXT1 crash as soon as any audio is sent to ATJH when it is added as an Insert FX
If I add it as a Comp in eXT1, it works OK.
If I add it as a Comp in XT2, XT2 crashes instantly (befroe I have a chance to open it and Cancel the Authorization window).
ATJH works OK in other hosts.
[This copy of ATJH is not yet authorized, but I do not think that that matters]
Can anyone confirm this?

Hi, I managed to get AmpliTube2 running in XT2, but it will crash when XT2 is sending cc 123 to it (all sounds off). XT2 always does this if press stop while not playing (midi panic button)
All I does is send one cc 123 for each 16 midi channels, but AmpliTube2 will crash even if I only send a single cc 123 event. Maybe you could notify the devs?

OK, will do,
I've done some more testing here and it looks like AmpliTube2 crashes if it receives _any_ MIDI (notes or CCs) that is not mapped to a VST parameter.
Also, a question, does XT2 send any MIDI to the VSTis and VST FX when you load a project? Try this:
- create a project with a VSTi,
- add AmpliTube2 as an Insert FX,
- save it and close XT2
- open XT2 and open the project
Crashes here.

On an XT2-VST related issue, I've built a VST mixer that I use in XT1 (I use it to generate MIDI level/pan data) using SynthMaker. In XT1, it functions as expected, but in XT2, it doesn't seem to generate any MIDI data.

Can you send me a link to the plugin please?

OK, I have reported this to IK Multimedia.jorgen wrote:Hi, I managed to get AmpliTube2 running in XT2, but it will crash when XT2 is sending cc 123 to it (all sounds off). XT2 always does this if press stop while not playing (midi panic button)

They confirm that AmpliTube2 does not handle MIDI at all. And that the crashes may be caused as XT (v1 and v2) is trying to send MIDI to a plugin that has no way of receiving the messages.
In XT2, mapping a Control Change or MIDI Envelope / Control Change to AT2's parameters works OK, but unfortunately unmapped MIDI CC messages _and_ the MIDI notes are still sent to AT2, causing the crash.
Also, as above: Does XT2 send any MIDI to the VSTis and VST FX when you load a project? Try this:
- create a project with a VSTi,
- add AmpliTube2 as an Insert FX,
- save it and close XT2
- open XT2 and open the project

Jorgen, I reckon that if you saved your project with AmpliTube in it, then re-opened it, it would crash too.
Even easier, drag AmpliTube into the XT2 main window as a comp.
------------------------
A possible solution:
- be able to change the M.Ch and the VST Wrapper to "None"
- as long as any automation (MIDI CC to VST parameters) still gets through.
- don't know about solving the crash when you open a project with AT2 in it though.

Its up to the plugin to ignore midi sent to it. MIDI is not supported by a plugin until they add support for it, but either way it shouldnt crash...They confirm that AmpliTube2 does not handle MIDI at all. And that the crashes may be caused as XT (v1 and v2) is trying to send MIDI to a plugin that has no way of receiving the messages.
currently yes, but next up it will only send all notes off when stop clicked twice.Does XT2 send any MIDI to the VSTis and VST FX when you load a project?
cheers

Looks like a bit of a standoff thenjorgen wrote:It's up to the plugin to ignore midi sent to it. Would allowing the user to change the AmpliTube M.Ch to "None", so that the MIDi is not received, help? At the moment the MIDI notes go to the VSTi _and_ to the VST FX (AmpliTube, in this case) and it crashes.

In a different thread Loonie wrote: Here's a quick export of an 8-channel version of the plugin;
Mixtest VST (effect version)
Mixtest VSTi (instrument version)
I've exported the instrument version as well, because I know there are sometimes problems with effects in hosts. The audio out of the plugin is not connected, and is only included because MIDI only plugins also sometimes cause problems with some hosts. Only the MIDI out does anything.
If you lash the VST's MIDI out to something like SampleTank, you should be able to see ST's volume and pan controls update in accordance with the mixer's. In XT1, it works as expected. In XT2, no joy.
(ps- don't worry about the occasional burst of noise coming from the audio output, it's because it was exported with the demo of SynthMaker)

After a long time I wanted to try out the XT2 VSTi again in REAPER, to see how useful its drum track could be. At the 'add drum track' command the whole thing froze...

So, still the same story, more than two months after 'the official release'...

I find it pretty incredible how disappointing XT2 is... cause WHAT is the use of such a buggy release? I don't get that & really wonder how do XT diehards cope with this. I for one will simply stop using it till I know for sure that I can run it without crashes, freezes and frustrations.
I wish jorgen would have continued 1.4's development! Such a beautiful piece of software in many respects. Why didn't he? And PLEASE don't tell me I can still use 1.4 cause I very well know I can. It's like defending a totally crappy album by saying that one could always listen to a great album that came out some years ago... which is both true and very silly
edit/ sorry wrong xt vst thread...

I have a small issue with Firebird+ V1.8 where it does'nt hide the keyboard in the gui when i disable it in Firebird+.
In XT 1.4 it works fine but not in XT 2
This bug is confirmed by 2 other XT users also.

DR-008 - Pad B5 is being constantly modulated - no biggie I guess, still got the other 90 odd pads.
ABL/ABL2 - tuning is f**ked, the actual 'tuning' knob is set at the the wrong value and I cannot seem to correct it.
