On PSN, the Cherries indicated quite clearly when asked that they weren't that interested in doing a JP8, as it had been done by so many others. They tend to like to tackle things that are a bit less common - hence the JP6, Synthex, JP4 etc etc.marzzz wrote: Thu Apr 27, 2023 7:14 pmI have also heard rumors that both GForce and Cherry Audio may be working on their own versions of the J8, we'll see...

Because the existing Jupiter 8 emulations are not flawed and there are ALREADY 3 OF THEM!!marzzz wrote: Thu Apr 27, 2023 10:55 pm Why not? Truthfully, if there was ONE analog synth that I would love to see reissued (other than the Minimoog, which has been done) it would be the Jupiter 8. I have played the new OB-X8 and am still looking to try the Prophet 10, but there is something about the Jupiter 8 for me.

Yeah, when it comes to Jupiter-8's, we've got (in order from most to least favorite): 1) Tal J-8, 2) Arturia Jup-8V, 3) Diva with the Jupiter-8 template, and 4) Roland Cloud Jupiter-8. I think we're well-covered there.

There's already a Jupiter 8 emulation inside Diva. You just have to select dual osc and the cascade multi filter.zvenx wrote: Fri Apr 28, 2023 12:09 am The only other developer who I would love to see do a jupiter 8, well two Softube... (and I guess if u-he did one I wouldn't be too disappointed).

Softube's one would probably be 8-voice poly, so four-voices when layered. They like to be slavishly authentic to the originals...zvenx wrote: Fri Apr 28, 2023 12:09 amThe only other developer who I would love to see do a jupiter 8, well two Softube...

I know that but it wont really do a Jupiter8 nearly as good as the j-8.
Urs keeps mentioning that naybe he would do a dedicated minimoog even though diva xan emulate one to an extent.
I dont need u-he to do one, but if they did I wouldnt be upset.
But i would like to hear softube's take on one.

Lol. You do have a point there. I forgot, does the model 84 only do 6 voices?

Engine wise yes but not control wise imho.
Someone just mentioned aftertouch for one. I would also like a more flexible way to map modwheel for instance.

I'm still holding out hope they'll do a 303 with scorch marks and flecks of dried blood.
I hate signatures too.

I agree, the TAL-J-8 is the best of the bunch, sounds more "natural" to me. As far as anyone else making a J8 VST, just because there are others making them doesn't stop them from trying. I mean how many Minimoog and OB clones are out there?
FWIW, it does kinda frustrate me that even basic aftertouch response hasn't been implemented in Tal-J-8; I am not interested in MPE right now.
