i started producing dnb back in 1997 and released for a couple of major london labels. i was using logic 4 and a bunch of synths/samplers and an analog mixer etc. etc. i still love to do dnb, now i do all inside the computer, using logic 7. i produced 2 tunes using cubase sx as well, so i really think it's not important the host you use.
i consider jungle and dnb among the most interesting musical innovations, i like the way they incorporated different musical styles. i agree that in the last years in most cases we assist to an infinite repetition of the same song
so my opinion of dnb of today is generally quite negative. but i still love to make my dnb tunes...
