.. thats not true - at least not according to several plug-developers i´m´in contact with.

.. yes, still using these things. somehow, since some months, my system behaves relatively well .. :) .. but seriously, dont ask me why.
its not all perfect, but at least it works out okay. (10.3.9 .. Logic 7.1.1)

I guess it depends on which plug in developers you speak to. Every one that I'm in contact with says the AU spec has only changed once...but the AU validation guidlines have changed a number of times.

mostly just correcting typos though

you get control over the most powerful host by far.. in my opinion
people who critique Logic either don't have a brain, have no manual  or are just simply f**king pussies :hihi:..
or a combination of any of the above :P :D
... or arent dumb enough to own a mac !!!

.. i'm talking about at least 4 developers (and these arent one-man developers) i talked about AU several times. so it makes me wonder that you heard diffrently.

Hi guys...this thread has highlighted my lack of usage of what is a great package. With Sonar 5 on my hardrive I just really never get round to using Logic at all. :(

I have even added my own comments to this thread earlier but...

I have decided to sell my Logic Big Box and my Emagic Vintage collection. You can find them here... http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=126180

If I could afford a G5 right now I would easily keep it and upgrade it. I have always wanted a MAC + PC set up of Sonar5 and Logic 7 in my studio, but I just have no real use for it with Sonar 5 on my PC.

Both bundles must go for £..well have a look at theMarket place thread first... :hihi:

Maybe those of you who have followed this thread wonder why we bought it. It is that good. Each to his own of course but if you have always wanted the PC version, now is your big chance. Logic5 and the Emagic Vintage collection are very difficult to get hold of especially activating the instruments which I doubt can even be done anymore!

All the instruments (all 9 of them) :o do not require *any* contact with emagic (if you can find them) or Apple, they are ready to go and fully functional on my XS key for Windows.

Have a look if you are interested...

I've posted elsewhere to no avail--maybe a Logic user can help.

I recently installed BFD Deluxe (having both BFD and XFL)--- now BFD runs extremely slolwly in Logic Pro on my Mac G4 (dual processor silver face) with 2 gigs of ram. Old projects that used original BFD kits and XFL kits take longer to load and, although they worked well prior to getting Deluxe, they too now overload my system.

Is there any way to optimize the performance of Deluxe (and BFD and XFL) on my system? Perhaps a work-around to lower the playback resolution while working with multiple tracks (which collectively strain my system) and a way to change to the higher resolution at another stage?

The kits, as always, sound and respond brilliantly--I just wish I could get a kit to run without causing my core audio to lock up.

Is my system so obsolete it cannot run Deluxe?

Thanks

what version of Logic?

I think that apart from sticking in an other gig or 2 of RAM, there's nothing much you can do to spice up your machine. If you're running 7 I think it might still run ok-ish on a dual G4 as long as you stick to it's build in synths/fx and au's that are easy on the cpu.. but I don't think you get far if you start pushing it with plugs like BFD

I might be wrong but I believe BFD and Logic is not always a match made in heaven either
