I think the best rule I broke (of mine) was giving up on my stance of analog or nothing (gae that up in the 90s)...after that the floodgates opened. I was at a party last week and there was this oldtimer there telling me all about how the digital world could never compare to the analog world. I nodded a lot, went home and jammed my ass off...I really didn't agree or disagree with him though, why compare when they can share?

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

me too....i was analog boy for years,,,had to be a tube amp, all analog everything...mxr stereo chorus, ross flanger, clone theory, big muff pi, fuzz face, memory man, echoplex ( which is the only thing i still really use, but more likely to use an akai headrush these days), ross overdrive etc...
and there was a period i was totally digital..boss me5 ( okay, only part digital) gp8, gs6 and se-50...
now again i am totlaly digital and i see no reason to look back.
i still have my old tube amps, and use them, but hardly ever,
i use that behringer or if i'm way too lazy to deal with a head and cab i grab my cybertwin.
doesn;t seem to matter what ya play thru after a while, ya know?
whoever said your tone is in your fingers is pretty much right.
i;ve played gigs thru a cheezy crate bass amp before sitting in with folks and been fine..
and i'm talkin NO tone, lol...
getting back to your tele and mods..
i gotta 66 bird that is nearly a hollowbody at this point, lol......
i too put a master volume on it, right where i figured it would work best...
but i f**ked mine up, lol...it tends to get in the way of some techniques.
here's a kinda shitty pic, but ya can see what i did...a <gasp> travesty!!!
lol
more on my website kickin around..

What's REALLY amazing is that nobody has sabotaged the Jordan Rudess ad with that photo - yet.

Hey Pinkjim - I heard you a while back talking about the Behringer gear - you've really peaked my interest. The V-ampire looks really cool - $149 for the brain and $249 for the combo! Seems like a ton of cool stuff for the money.
Would you recommend any of their pedals... I'm especially interested in a reverb to go with my Blackheart... I saw one with RSA for about $48 including freight... an RV600 IIRC.

hey bro, like i said, bang for the buck wise i found them really hard to beat.Integratron wrote:Hey Pinkjim - I heard you a while back talking about the Behringer gear - you've really peaked my interest. the combo is only 60 watts, until ya add an extension...then it becomes stereo with 60 watts aside.
if ya like celestions, celestions are a feckin perfect match....you can dial in your cream with your volume knob.
they are also really good for recording as well.
fx wise, i have less experience with them.
but like i said, aLL the pots suck ass in a major way, really delicate, so get a flite case.
but i think all their shit is maligned more than it shoud be bro.

I just still cannot get on the Behringer bandwagon. Partly because I didn't like having to sell them, partly because I got a little mixer that was noisy as all hell (I only used it for monitoring latency free and still couldn't stand it, partly because their business model doen't sit well with me, and partly because I really believe you get what you pay for.
pinkjimiphoton, the tele looks like mine at one point (before the kahler) except my neck wasn't so virgin looking (3 bolt microtilt), it a lot of that great between fret wear that looks so good on a maple neck.

I listened to the online audio demo and for $20 seems pretty hard to pass up.
