I just purchased the DMD library and they sound great. Some of the
directory names are DMD DFX etc. What do the names represent? Is there a Mac version of Nebula Free yet?

I'm quite new to producing music, only just playing around with different synths, programs, DAWs and samples. I stumbled upon a recommendation for Driven Machine Drums in a video from macprovideo.com (Live 8 101, great tutorials!), and gave the free sample pack a go.
Now, I don't know anything about analog gear. I have no idea what a 808 or 909 is. All I know is that I liked the sample pack, and I bought the DMD pack (after asking Nathaniel a couple of questions by email, for which I received good replies). I haven't heard all samples yet, but I like the ones I have, and I'd recommend them. I won't be looking for more drum samples anytime soon.
Oh, and I spent an hour or so wading through this whole forum thread, both with good and not-so-good posts. To save time for everyone else, here's a list of the free extra sample packs offered in this thread:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/2g2mg3ynt4o/DMD-909ks.rar
http://www.mediafire.com/file/tuymdyym0 ... _Drums.zip
I hope it's okay to post the list.
Thanks for DMD, it's cool!
Regards,
Markus
EDIT: Now with working links.

Supermarket.. I like that.Aloysius wrote:Hi supermarket! Most if not all of those links seem to be dead!
Sorry, indeed they are. That's what my browser listed where I got them from. I'll try to dig the real links out.
EDIT: Dug them out. But apparently, KVR doesn't let me post links, and even inserts spaces in the long ones.. Remove spaces, copy to address bar, done.

Thanks Markus.
Wow... can't believe this one is on the front page again.
Future Music Magazine just awarded Driven Machine Drums
10/10 in this months issue. That's pretty cool since I've read
their magazine forever and ever. Never thought I'd have
something inside it.
Just a quick update, I know some are curious:
There's 423 copies left.
I think that will change shortly, considering the content is
about to double.
In like, less than 24 hours.
Whew.... Back to work!

Hey, just got the KVR Newsletter. What's this DMD 1.5? And do us original DMD owners get the update?Tonebldr wrote:Thanks Markus.

I booked that ad 4 weeks ago. I was on schedule except for getting a cold last weekend.
Everything is complete, edited, mapped, tested, organized... uploading now.
Demos soon.
I initially intended to inform the current user base first. There will be a very modestly priced upgrade path which will include this update and 1 future planned expansion.
I'm very pleased with this one, it's the culmination of a LOT of research, effort, and expense. It's not more of the same... there's stuff on here that I haven't heard before.
It's big.
all 24/96.

Looking forward to it. Few things though -- I'm used to the way DMD is set up right now, sounds-wise. Will 1.5 be adding sounds to the current folders, or will you set them up in new folders?Tonebldr wrote:DOH!NewSc2 wrote:

And also, I can't see how you could add to DMD in its current setup (drum sounds-wise), but I wouldn't mind seeing more filler stuff -- blips, weird noises, maybe even some drones/textures

I have it set up where the new sounds will copy/paste directly into the folders without overwriting any previous material.NewSc2 wrote:

edit: This is only for the upgrade. The complete library has everything organized from the get go.
RE: Content...
I think you'll be very, very pleased. I'm pretty familiar with the library, haven eat/sleep/sh!t it for so long. With that in mind, I knew where the "holes" were. So, that's why I can't really do a DMD2, because I don't want to retread the same ground... there's really no need to.
DMD 1.5 both fills the gaps and expands into new territory that I personally didn't know existed until I turned the knobs. Sure, there's some heads out there who've likely heard some of these textures, but nothing available for less than $5k-$10k a sound and if it exists as a sample, it's private.
The whole library is not like that, it's a portion... but my favorite portion. Some days. My mood shifts.
I just feel equally blessed, elated to share, and stressed at the same time! Oh... and broke

Hey Tonebldr maschine imports mpc programs so would there be a possibility of mpc format with this library? Or is there some way u can convert from, say, guru to mpc?
