Funny, you mention Tool.
If the preset "tool" is aimed at their guitar tone than it's terribly off.
I expected cranked mids and found a highly scooped sound which doesn't have anything in common with Adam Jones sound.
AJ cranks his mids, I know that.
Yeah.. and now what?

What's missing for me is the ability to enter in changes with the keyboard for volume, panning, etc. It shows the text value but doesn't allow manual changes via keyboard?! :?

One thing I'd like to see in a future update (or perhaps v4?) is multiple outputs assignable to each and every "virtual microphone" in Amplitude. This would be extremely cool and a very powerful feature. I mean, we have this in our drum packages so why not here as well? :)

Cheers!

pandashake wrote:Found a bug today after creating one of my own presets. I was scrolling through the preset selector at the top of the UI (the up/down arrows) and the plug-in got "stuck" on one patch (it was a Vox patch - don't remember the name). Anyway, it was locked into that preset after changing to patches (still the same sound, but with different names at the top of the UI). Simple restarted solved it, but still...
This has happened to me with X-Gear as well. On top of that, there have been many times when I have chosen to update a preset I have done... and sometimes when I save it with the same name, the name disappears. :) I will be left with something like 000B, and nothing after. No matter how many times I try to save it with that name, it won't work. A different name works fine. If I close it and reopen and save that name again, it will work.

I have finally experienced my first blue screens from an IK product (totally crashed windows). Happened to me twice with AT3. Other than that it is working fine. Well, sometimes it gets a little dumb with StompIO (there have been times when I start AT3, and get no sound...I close it, open X-Gear, and presto! sound. I then close X-Gear and open AT3 again, and sound is there), but since this is the first release, I am sure bugs will be squashed and updates will be release.

thats a great idea, being able to eq each mic a bit or compress it seperately would be useful.

Hey Folks,

Perhaps a silly question, but here goes: it seems that X-Gear comes free with all of the IK amp sims - except AmpliTube 3. Why is that? It would be nice to be able to access the presets found in the individual packages (now bundled in A3).

would also be nice if we could still use the ampeg ba-500 from x-gear unless its outclassed by the Amplitube 3 offerings

Amplitube 3 essentially replaces X-Gear and includes the features that X-Gear performed. If you have say Fender, or SVX, the presets should be there just as they were in X-Gear - Peter mentioned this in one of the threads - I think it was the NAMM thread.

Please fix and upload to the Preset XChange - I'd love to see it there, we're always open to improvement of presets and such. Thanks!

He's quite right btw - tested it out tonight just to be sure.

Which reminds me; amp requests....

Deizel VH4 channel 4.
Marshall Superbass with the channels wired together.
Rivera Knucklehead KR10

There are some great high-gain amps out there that aren't Peavey and Mesa Boogie :hihi:
