That would be nice! Are you sure it doesn't do this? Are there any other step sequencers currently available that have midi to turn on/off the steps?Slinky Productions wrote:I also wish it was possible to turn on/off steps in the sequencer via midi. Numerology does this.
But like I say so many virtual drum machines overlook this super important feature it boggles my mind! Even keyboard (as in typing) control of steps would be good. Look at d16 drum machines for example. How to emulate these classic drum machines but no live control of step input ?? huh ?? only patch changing through midi is not really good enough in my opinion. I have suggested to them and they agree is a good a popular idea but we won't see it before version 2
as it is these drum machines sequencers are only minor improvement over piano roll. if even!
I haven't heard of "Era" I tried google but didn't find it.
my one wish for all these drum machine developers is to wake up and implement some form of live step input controllable via midi and/or typing keyboard.
but I'm not complaining about a free microtonic update so don't get me wrong!

I'm sure the scripting language will allow live control/on-off on the step-sequencer. The small hang-up is I don't know C++ which is what the scripting language is based on.

Wow!
--This new morphing slider is very funny and adds new artistic/sonic capability.Well done!
--Matrix edit is really usefull and smart (changing drum channels order is fast and usefull!):P
--Edit-All button:Yeaaahh!Great time saver!
--Choke function can be used also to obtain great "gate-verb" FX,cool!
--Midi Drag,nice addition!:)
Verdict:GREAT (FREE) UPGRADE!! Thanx Magnus!
Personally I'd love to see a 4th waveform added(maybe the square?) in order to extend the sonic palette and another choke group :one for open/close hats (or high frequency sounds fx)and another one for kick/bass (or low freq sounds fx):wheee:

But yes sure that is an interesting step sequencer I didn't try yet (already sorted for step sequencer), but really I am speaking about all the drum machine vsts and emulations that have no live step input via midi. I think it's a criminal oversight but that's just my opinion.
so there are step sequencers like numerology and era, and freebie step sequencers from the monome gang, but how many drum machine vsts are there ? and pretty much none of them have live step input ? what's going on ? people are happy just to change patches live ?

It's a bit more than the average drum machine plugin but maschine is one. vst support means being able to load most any drum machine plugin and control and sequence it at will. Like i say it costs a bit more but boy was it a good investment.
