Somewhere between three weeks and six years, depending on what we are talking about exactly.
If it is a Synplant RE Im gonna shit. :hihi:
Thanks. I take this as a complement and I'd be happy to help you shit, but what is a Synplant RE? :)

Their previous "big" announcement was Record a few years ago... I don't recall if there was a VIP press conference or anything, though.

I don't know 100% but I think it was for record.

Hi. :)

I meant how long you have been working on the Musikmesse-related-Props-project. If it were longer, we could speculate all kinds of wild things! :D
If it were shorter, maybe just a photo shoot. ;)

And yes, please do take the Synplant comment as a compliment.
Imo it is one of the most special things out there for pure sonic indulgence.
Ear candy orgasmatron.

The 'RE' was for "Rack Extension".
i.e. That maybe a 'Reasonized' version of Synplant was created as the first Rack Extension.

Thats my wild guess.

My 2 cents ... prop has or had a job opportunity for IOS mobile developpers.

I'll be really disappointed if all of this marketing is for an ipad app. Given what Justin said something like 15 pages ago I'm more inclined to think it'll be a more modular extension like Max or Reaktor or even Synthedit to a certain degree with native Reason support. At least that's what I'm hoping for, even more Audio Lego fun.

Post

I'd also love to see lower level modularity in Reason but when I think in terms of the results I want to achieve, I'm always surprised at how much you can achieve in Reason as it is. With Thor, Combinator, the Spider modules and the latest effects you have some extremely flexible sound design tools. Even the older synths, samplers and effects are capable of some extraordinary sounds when used in unconventional ways.

I haven't heard anything about an iOS app but considering recent trends, I'd be surprised if that wasn't something they've been working on.

"Rack Extension" really does sound like an external extension to the Reason rack into which vst's can be loaded. If they would do this and also add a punch in/out capability to the time line I'd be a-smilin' I would.

O/T: Did you know that you can use the Pulveriser in Reason 6 as a lag processor? The folower, when using it's CV input instead of audio, acts like a lag processor with individual Attack and Release settings.

So you can take any CV signal and route it into the Pulveriser Follower CV Input and then take the Follower CV Output and route to whatever you want slewed.

Even though the follower itself is only unipolar, it works bipolar when handling CV. Also the threshold is bypassed when processing CV.

And yeah, I love how much you can do with Thor in terms of inverting, attenuating, scaling etc. I just love that you can i.e. modulate a LFO's intensity by another LFO etc or modulate a LFO's speed by another LFO or the step sequencer (I love setting the step sequencer to just "step" mode and make a random pattern to modulate LFO rate, instant wobble goodness).

Ah, well.

Here's what I guess the Props are going to announce:

A new live performance technology which essentially is their solution to connecting multiple softwares together with multiple hardware controllers in a modular way (meaning you can hotswap the devices). They're also making the Reason racks available for iPad, so you're able to hook up multiple iPads together into a live setup.

In essence, they're announcing a "ReWire for hardware" technology.

im hoping for this also, the props formula is always 'just reason' though,i doubt vst's will be able to be loaded into reason but maybe-just maybe...the most obvious second guess (as before mentioned) is reason for ipad,i hope not because i dont have one :(

btw-REASON IS STILL THE BEST!!...sorry for the silly font size but i just love reason,i mean c,mon!
live 11 / Arturia collection / many Softube plug ins / thats it

The marketplace has changed in many unpredictable ways since those earlier days when it seemed more reasonable :) to make such claims. I won't fault them for changing with the times, and I'm sure they'll find a way to remain 'just Reason' for those who like it that way.

That article is downright speculation and there is no indication, comment, or proof of Reason being ported to the ipad.

CEO Nathorst-Böös says "The iPad is at least as powerful a computer as the ones we started making software for back in the 90s. And that's pretty exciting!" in March of 2010. Musicradar and synthtopia go into 100% speculation mode. In November of 2010 Propellerhead releases Rebirth for the ipad.

Now how is this a hint other than wishful thinking on your part?

Of course, that's from early 2010, so who knows if the idea ever went anywhere.

EDIT: bmrzycki beat me to it.
