Hmm...never heard the Elvis thing before...I used to get a lot of "Ray Davies", but I'm singing huskier these days...not a bad thing, though...we loves the Elvii in all their myriad forms.

Thought I'd mix things up a bit this month, bring in some untouched stylistic elements and confuse the Europeans to boot .

First off, I consider your summation quite a compliment...Monks and SG are always faves...esp. as relates to writing.

However, by '70's tone, I mean that the rhythm beds/lead playing/overall instrumentation are taken directly from the '70's pop-country of Jerry Reed,Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Glen Campbell...with maybe an unintended touch of the Eagles, who I don't care for.

Mind you, I think you were all listening to Slade at the time, so probably missed out on all that

You may have taken from there, but you've ended up somewhere else. The rhythms are pure 60's, the twangy guitar is mid-late 60's country-pop. The organ is a Vox soundalike - you can hardly get more 60's than that.

So you've obviously done it wrong

I lost my old site, along with the mp3 I first entered....and "Itchy My Glitchy" is nowhere to be found on my computer..? So I made this new tune hoping it would be ok, I asked about gettin' back into the comp somwhere in this thread a bit ago.

Rules are rules tho, so I'll understand whatever you decide to do....If I get the boot, I'll prolly just sit in a dark corner and cry for a few days..or cut off a finger or something...ahh, just kiding..but I will miss it, it's a great comp.

I'm unsure about the song I entered anyway, it's kinda out there.
