Actually they asked for, and got the OK from Roland: http://www.rebirthmuseum.com/history/part4.htmxalama qo wrote: And, curiously, ReBirth never seemed to pose a problem at all, even with the sampled 909 hihats...go figure.

@chk071, I didn't know that interesting factoid about Rebirth, thanks! Is sampling ReBirth illegal?....and back to the thread

TAL Noizemaker is one of my favorites... and it's free! That's crazy.

TAL could also just add skinning support for his synths to solve the problem, then users could make it look like anything they want.
It looks like d16 Group will add skinning support for all their plugins with next updates. I really look forward to that. I can't stand the cheesy Casio VL-1 Tone look on the 606 and 303 clone. I'm surprised Casio have no problems with that look.

Yeah. Way to go Roland. Buy another company instead of making your own interesting software and plugins. I know it's a working business strategy, but nothing really new or exciting for us customers is it.
Will they ever give us anything similar to Korgs Legacy Collection?
Probably not..

As good as these emulations are, I would much rather see a commercial updated version of Noisemaker!DHR53 wrote:TAL Noizemaker is one of my favorites... and it's free! That's crazy.

Noizemaker would need more voices (32 or 64 would be great), unison, more waveforms for the oscillators, and maybe a 2nd filter. Would be pure awesomeness then.

Or maybe a JX-3P emulation, an underestimated synth that is actually pretty similar to the Juno, but with two oscillators. I guess he could reuse a lot of code...
