Great stuff,
I've just downloaded and tried it for the first time = it's really fantastic.

The sound is very usable for all kinds of genres and I like the way how you can switch the Mics and give it another timbre by doing just that.

In the process of installing it however, my Kontakt Player library (the demo library which is part of the free Kontakt Player) seems to have been removed.

Also another Kontakt library that came with "Komplete Elements" is no longer displayed in the list of the Kontakt browser. It also re-installed Kontakt 5 (Player) eventhough it was already installed.

Anyone else encountered this problem? It's not a real problem, since I can still reinstall those libraries.

Whatever, huge thanks for this great drum library to the makers of it!

the installer fails for me every time.
I've tried repairing permissions and downloading the file again, nothing works.
I'm on OSX 10.8.4, anyone with similar troubles, solutions?
Cheers

Hi!

Has anybody the same problem?

Trying to install DrumMicA, I got an error from the NI-AwareWizard: "Please run this installer from the original DVD".

I got the serial number und the full download file. The recent version of Service Center is installed. Kontakt 5 Player is updated.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you didn't extract the zip file properly.

Finally got to install this, and I think it sounds really good for a freebie. However, the snare has an incredibly overpowering ring to it - has anyone else experienced this? Any recommendations for cutting that down? Thanks!

I saw this too... Can't remember if it was because I didn't extract it or because I tried to install off a network drive but extracting and installing on a local drive cleared it up.

Is there a way to permanently add this to your Kontakt libraries? I have to add it every freakin' time I open up a project (not just when I start up my DAW):

Loading instruments has failed, as the library

"DrumMic'A!"

is not installed on this computer.

It authorizes/installs perfectly each time otherwise (modulo Win7's weird-ass directory management).
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

Nice tip, thanks everyone. Downloading now... the non-translated German was a bit of a challenge, but common sense and thinking outside the box, and it can be worked out.

The question is... what the hell is Kontakt? It appears to be a gigantic, multi sampler VST, right? I'm hoping I can route this through the MIDI device in Reason 7.01, does anyone have experience in these matters?

I don't think this will work in Reason, as Kontakt runs either as a standalone or as a VST.

Since my last post, I have discovered that it can actually be routed using the virtual MIDI device and a virtual audio cable. For the Props guys out there:

Really looking forward to this free drum suite when it finishes downloading. It's the one instrument that I believe needs to sound human, and 808 style machines just don't cut it for non electronic genres.

Interesting - any ideas for a similar solution for Windows? Would Jack do the trick?

Post

You can rig up Kontakt and a DAW/Reason/whatever through JACK with it's ASIO plugin, plus MIDI routed through whatever handy virtual MIDI cable (as the JACK MIDI requires JACK support and has no MME loopback driver, AFAIK).
