I think you can remove the DAW from the combo. Mine is FLStudio, and i got muted (crashed) general output 'cause Eclipsis, and always in the same track spot. Another user found that it was the OSC wave modulation that caused the problem, so i ceased to use it to build my patches (and the one i've derived from presets shared here that uses it i've taking care to not touch that controls).Mojo42 wrote:So it seems that we are seeing here typical problems concerning the combination: Cubase Elements 7, Windows 7 and Eclipsis.
In the end, I'm guessing that Eclipsis "messes-up" the audio buffer when reaching certain wave-modulation-arp-number of notes combo and each DAW then "react" to the problem in his own way. As i have only Win7/64 PCs, i can't say if the O.S. is involved in the bug.

Ah okay. That`s a pity, but thanks for the information. I try to use rather simple constructed presets up from now for to get my song finished. This will work I guess.Parduz wrote:I think you can remove the DAW from the combo. Mine is FLStudio, and i got muted (crashed) general output 'cause Eclipsis, and always in the same track spot. So, in the end, i did'nt surrender
Here's my entry:
https://soundcloud.com/fabio-calzolari/ ... s-terminus
Instruments:
7 Instances of Eclipsis VST
Effects:
RetroDelay
EpicVerb
FLStudio Parametric EQ2
Definitely not loving this synth. Each sound is near, but not exactly, how i would have liked to be. Is like driving a muscle car with slick tires in a raining day....
Hope you enjoy my track, anyway

Damn, that's a great track. Honestly, when something this good comes along, it makes me a little discouraged. How can my little house ditty compete with something so solid?
This is very well executed; cinematic, emotional, with lots of movement and an unexpected resolution.
Jealously,

Don't. I feel the same listening to the other tracks. Genre apart, everyone here have differents skills, and i don't have them all, so i always have something to "envy" from someone elseesteband wrote:Honestly, when something this good comes along, it makes me a little discouraged.

@Parduz: I just can agree to esteband. I`m amazed what one can do with only 7 instances. I could listen it for hours, really. I love it!!! Good that you didn`t give up
I listen at the moment your entry for the Hive contest....wow, really awesome. I wish I would have more time for to listen all this great music born by OSC`s.
My news: It works
I had 2 calm nightshifts (God had a mercy) and so I could work on my song a little bit. 7 instances now, it sounds actually like music (
) AND Richard Semper is on board too, with the preset Combi 2 and until now it didn`t get muted by Cubase. I don`t know if I will add more instances. The song would work the way it is now, but I still have a couple of ideas. The last remaining days until the deadline I will spend with improving and completing it. Means: In it`s basic it is finished now and I could post it, but I will take my time (as always
)

Parduz: Awesome track even if you don't like Eclipsis.
It is interesting to read that almost everyone have problem with more then 10 instances of this plugin or with prests that comes with it. I'm running about 14 years old computer and I never experienced this problem. My only problem is that it collapse even with 6 instances because of low CPU power but I dont have any other issues. I have one testing project with 16 instances and no problem. But it is normal behavior since there are several manufacturer of ccomputer components so there are ulimited number of combination together with OS and drivers that can lead to unexpected results/problems.
Here is small contribution - my new test with Photonic drumkits (cant resist I'm kind of beat addict and this is my usual style of "music"). 12 instances of Eclipsis, Amplio 2 for beat and 2nd instance for strings. DAW limiter on master track. Default and V2 presets modified used for this. In order to complete it I have always need to turn few instances while working because even with buffer set at maximum I can't play it on my old crap without serious shutter. So in order I can hear full composition I need to render it first
. Not made for OSC.

As a developer myself (even if not in the audio/music field) i know this feeling.TrojakEW wrote:It is interesting to read that almost everyone have problem with more then 10 instances of this plugin or with prests that comes with it. I don't know if it's related to how the parts are made. In the image i've attached there's the last part of my track. As you see, there's a lot of long notes, where pads can have 6-notes chords running for a bar, plus the piano arpeggio and so on. Could it be different if i had 7 tracks made by short arps notes?
Also, the picture show an usage of 13% CPU.... this while stopped (i mean, i took the screenshot withou the song playing)... it usually sits around 4% while not playing (only some effects gives me CPU usage even when silent). When the songs runs in the finale the CPU is around 45-50%.
Hope this can help you
Uh, you should really compose something for this OSC.

Hey everyone, I'm giving this a try. The track is called "Crossing the Unknown Abyss".
By the way, this is a great synth -- so many gorgeous sounds to choose from and so intuitive to tweak!

Yes, paste the SoundCloud link, also list the plugins used DAW, number of Eclipsis instances, etc.: https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/rulesjdruery wrote:Hey everyone, I'm giving this a try. The track is called "Crossing the Unknown Abyss"

I used Reaper, 9 instances of Eclipsis, the ReaEQ plugin (Cockos), Classic Compressor and Classic Master Limiter (both by Kjaerhus Audio).
Thanks!
