just noticed something ... i don't know if something changed or what, but i could swear it wasn't doing this even just the other day. when i switch the Arpeggiator on and hold a couple notes, instead of just alternating from one note to the other it's playing them in a random order.
ie - instead of just B, G, B, G, B, G, B, G, B, G back and forth, it's playing B, G, B, G, G, B, G, G, B, G (or whatever). i don't get it.
any ideas? i could swear it always just played the notes alternating from one to the other.
EDIT: hmm, maybe this is the default behavior if you don't choose UP or DOWN (which work just how i'd expect) and i somehow never noticed it? weird.

Oh well here's a preliminary one anyway - lets hope automation is added for filter type buttons though as everything else can be mapped except thoseaMUSEd wrote:Oh hit a snag - filter types are not learnable!aMUSEd wrote:Anyway made a mapped template for PKBIII myself just to tide people over while the official one comes out

I can vouch for Xils 4 and StiX; both are creation wonderlands.
Hope for the future.

Would be nice to add them in a future update I agree ( I'm myself making a -basic- template for a Novation KB)aMUSEd wrote:Oh well here's a preliminary one anyway - lets hope automation is added for filter type buttons though as everything else can be mapped except thoseaMUSEd wrote:Oh hit a snag - filter types are not learnable!aMUSEd wrote:Anyway made a mapped template for PKBIII myself just to tide people over while the official one comes out

Also possibly worth checking the ARP 'Playing Mode' parameter in the KB/Arp tab ??jbuonacc wrote:just noticed something ... i don't know if something changed or what, but i could swear it wasn't doing this even just the other day. when i switch the Arpeggiator on and hold a couple notes, instead of just alternating from one note to the other it's playing them in a random order.

I just went through this entire thread again because I had a feeling that the problem I just reported had actually been reported by somebody else, and it was.
I can absolutely confirm with 100% certainty that the sequencer programming does not work as it did in 2.5. If you click notes in the grid, the voice button does not light up. And it's not the Vel setting. in fact, on initializing a patch, the Vel box isn't checked at all so it's already set for entering notes.
The procedure I did for programming is identical to this video.
If you follow this same procedure (at least in Cubase, which is a common factor between our reported problems) it doesn't work.
So to the poster who reported this, don't worry, you're not crazy and you're not doing anything wrong.
Can somebody else who has version III test this on their system and report back as to whether or not it works? Preferably somebody who is not using Cubase.

i press the following in the order of writing;
1*) step
2*) record button
3*) ED - DI 1 enabled, the rest off
4*) voice / select (the first button of the eight)
5*) start recording in step mode
6*) disable step
7*) disable record (it should start running now)
8*) press play
9*) *i enable trigger reset and tune
And this works for all voices.
Tedious job, but it works.

Okay, how did you even think of this because it's not in the manual.exmatproton wrote:i press the following in the order of writing;

Well, unless I'm doing something wrong, this doesn't work here either.exmatproton wrote:i press the following in the order of writing;

I'm going to try it in another host.

Yes, thanks for the investigations/warnings to all, and to exmat to find a turnaround similar to the one I just found too. Yes, there are some ways to make it work, but it's not working exactly like it should, and not exactly like it used to as well.exmatproton wrote:i press the following in the order of writing;

This must be a regressive bug introduced when the Step Play Mode was fixed in the last version.( Good news, Step Play mode now plays like it should, but that's about the only good news afaics) This will need to be fixed to get something more easy to operate, and more comprehensive/logic too. I hope it won't compromise the Step Play mode again though, because I just tested in depth, and it's really a joy/awsome.

Normally you should also be able to open the PolySequencer Editor, add notes, remove notes etc without having to turn the RECORD button enabled.
At the moment, for example, if you do that ( the usual way before, at least for the lazy me) the notes entered with the mouse in the editor wont sound. And added notes wont sound either. More than that, only the notes entered with the step mode WHEN Record button was on will be edited ( Like pitch edits etc)
Ok I'm investigating more all the possible Record/Play/Reset/Activated_voices matrix cases so that it can be fixed.

I've tested this (official way plus workaround) in 3 different hosts (Cubase, MuLab, Reaper) and none of them work.Lotuzia wrote:Normally you should also be able to open the PolySequencer Editor, add notes, remove notes etc without having to turn the RECORD button enabled.

When this is eventually sorted out, would it be possible to either...
1) Put the procedure in the manual for step recording
2) Make a video tutorial
Either will be fine. Just so I know what I'm doing because right now I'm totally clueless. lol
