Presonus, design, develop and manufacture mixing desks and audio interfaces, yet and as far as we know, Studio One doesn't even have proper implementation of Surround Sound, and the irony of a tacked on extremely primitive video player to add insult to injury, lacking video thumbnails to track audio to. Will all this remain the same....? We'll find out on Tuesday 23rd....
Personally..I've been developing music, for film more recently and CGI..so what I've described above would help a lot in that process I would think.

I'd suggest that people do the logical thing as chk071 often implies, if you need a Hummer, buy a Hummer, not a Volkswagen, and until they actually stop making Hummers and you can't buy one, stop complaining that not every vehicle on the planet is a Hummer?
Like I said, stupid "daw contest" stuff.
There must be at least 5-7 good affordable daws with surround support. Buy one and be happy, if you need that.

Agree 100%. Presonus needs to add just a few more film-friendly enhancements to help a whole group of people scoring or mixing to picture/video. I can live without surround though for now since most of my film work is in stereo. I agree with LawrenceF that the market for surround is relatively small, compared to straight up scoring/mixing to video. So first they need to add a better video engine and thumbnails, etc...THE INTRANCER wrote:... and the irony of a tacked on extremely primitive video player to add insult to injury, lacking video thumbnails to track audio to. And then eventually, surround.

Surround support might make sense if they wanted to go nuts with video and scoring features, but I still feel like they're a long way off from going that road. First things first, get MIDI up to snuff.

Oh, exciting! Can't wait to see what they've come up with. I wonder when the actual release date will be.

What's the betting that they didn't look up the definition of "Incredible"?

I think there's probably a zero percent chance that they looked up the definition of "incredible". what I think IS credible is that they used a common throwaway word with a completely subjective meaning like they do every day in real life.
If you only knew the dictionary definitions of words, you would go through life very, very confused.

Some People on this forum seem to have issues with marketing....you must all be screaming at your TVs when the adverts come on!
I am looking forward to the release and it’s not too far away (no count down for 3 months!) Let’s hope it’s a good update...I believe there is supposed to be even better melodyne integration.

S1v3 was "epic announcement" and S1v4 "incredible announcement" - I'd say Presonus are are always big words...and yet they cannot make a site that works for support tickets....

Yep, the anti - marketing defamation league are an odd bunch. Imagine how upset they must get when they get their Lincoln Continential home and realize that Matthew McConaughey isn't there to pour them a hot bath and rub their feet. Oh, the treachery.
