Pretty sure mine will get here before the year ends... Please do post impressions once in hand (if you want to of course

This thread is very dangerous. I’m liking the kits very much. It looks like you lucked out on the 15IPS.DMG68 wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 12:49 am I picked up a Synare 3 clone kit from Helensson and some stuff from DIY Recording - 2 each color palettes, CTX, 15IPS and TM79

Manis Iteritas and Clep Diaz should arrive tomorrow, but I also ordered a Xaoc Drezno just now
Bitcrushing and sample rate reduction of course, weird clipping and quasi-folding, extraction of gates from LFOs and different squarewave patterns from audio. Rearranging, killing or replacing bits to change waveshapes, changing the scaling to clip/decimate, using the high-order bit as a comparator, clocking the DAC or ADC slowly for sample-and-hold. Feeding the DAC back to the ADC to create a (non)linear feedback shift register for CV and gate patterns and Atari noises. Maybe clocking the DAC from bits coming out of the ADC for I don't know what reason, lots of experiments like that.
I may add the Jena to it later, for wavetables and nonlinear distortion and other rhythmic patterns and Walsh functions and confusing the feedback loops.

I just replaced my DIYRE Color Palettes with a pair of Mr Focus (Foci?) from Louder Than Liftoff. I put a 15ips mk2 and a Mass Drivr in each of them and I really like the result. The first slot in the Mr Focus has a lot more range that the slots in the Color Palette and Tilt EQ is really handy. Nice that the EQ can be before or after the color slots. I also really like how the first slot drives the second slot, when using the 'Boost' mode. I'm tempted to get another pair for my GT Console and Tone-Loc colors.

Speaking as someone who coincidentally owns three vintage Synare drums, I think you'll like the clone. Congrats!DMG68 wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 12:49 am I picked up a Synare 3 clone kit from Helensson and some stuff from DIY Recording - 2 each color palettes, CTX, 15IPS and TM79

Had a TR-8S on order for ages and the local shop finally got stock. Won't get it 'til Monday, but should be fun.
I nearly joined the Elektron hipsters, but this was just a little less daunting.
Edit: They're shipping it so I get it tomorrow. Result!

I ordered a Photon Smasher kit. Basically a step up from ye classic optical resistor 'pseudo-theremin'.

They’re great so far, still in the early days of using them. Haven’t done any tracking yet. Their stuff hits a spot for sure, and having 3 options in one unit is super sweet.elxsound wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 2:45 amThis thread is very dangerous. I’m liking the kits very much. 3 originals!!! Must be nice. I’m loving the clone. Triggering it from my RYTM works great. Might pick up a drum pad if I find one for a decent price.McLilith wrote: Thu Mar 18, 2021 3:23 amSpeaking as someone who coincidentally owns three vintage Synare drums, I think you'll like the clone. Trying to sort my space out, finally got round to ordering a slightly bigger (1800m wide) wooden desk and a heavy duty gas armed monitor stand that can handle two big monitors. I hope the stand works out because it was only £42 off Amazon.
In a perfect world that will free up enough desk space to allow me to have a keyboard in front of me rather than having to play with a cricked neck. At some point I'm also going to investigate getting a small 19" rack so I can offload my ADAT ports expander and maybe pick up some cheap rack units later on.
And the best bit of gear I acquired this month was a tin of Gibson picks from a place named Dirty Riffs. I always liked Gibson thins, but the only stores left in my city stopped carrying them. Now even I won't get through these for a few years.

I'm really pleased with all the recent stuff: Odessa, Manis Iteritas, Clep Diaz, Drezno.
I worked out a plan, rearranged my case yesterday and ordered a Desmodus Versio (aka "the Batverb") just now
I'll probably be picking up a Xaoc Jena once the budget allows.
I know there's going to be a Desmodus VST plugin, but there are a bunch of other firmware options for Versio and I expect there'll always be at least one of them I want to have running in the modular rather than in a plugin. I'm really impressed at what I've heard from the Ruina Versio distortion for instance.

The Ruina Versio is the firmware I like the best so far, though I haven't tried the envelope or the latest
reverb as yet. I will probably get one more unit when I can manage to get a sale price on it sometime.
I had a chance to buy one off a buddy, but dropped the ball on that unfortunately.
