Milka or Ritter can be great, and it is if you just crave for some candy, but supreme it is not.

I have both and having had a good listen to both oberhousen and SEM, I would say that the SEM is more uhe like, its broad and buttery, where as the oberhouse is a little bit more frizzy, dare I say nudging toward the digital! (blasphemy I know) I could see oberhousen fitting in a busy mix more easily but that's just my humble option. They are both fine synths but if uhe is not your thing you'll no doubt find the oberhousen more to your liking and considering you can pick it up for £29.99 most days, well, but is it as versatile as the OB8 I don't think so.
Regarding, uhe's connection with gforce, I seem to remember Urs was involved in developing the impOscar filter and suspect some of that DNA is carrying through to this new generation of synths from gforce. Anyway I'm impressed well done gforce, not just for the sound but the new scaling vector graphics, this is what we need, I'd love to see impOscar get the same treatment. I feel we are just about to see gforce step up significant level as a developer good effort guys keep it up.

could just be my misconception but I do remember reading he was consulted about ZDFs and even then credited on the instrument itself... have a look on the about screen his names there clear as day.

I think the thread should be filled with posts KVR users want to make about SEM, instead of posts that single user Felis wants all other KVR users to make about SEM.

Urs was indeed mentioned , I don't know which version you have which removed him from the about screen
But stating ( not you )that urs was involved with the filters is something I 've never heard off .
I am sure urs will chime in sooner or later to clarify
Also , when imposcar 1 came out in 2004-2005 , it's filters where miles ahead of anything Urs did at that time when it came to filters ( my 2 cents )
It would take another 3 years befor the first zdf filters arrived in Reaktor by Vadim Zavalishin ( reaktor core developer and ZDF pioneer )
Edit: I see you have a never version , wonder what happened in between versions

Here look guys, In my previous post I used the words involved, I think "consulted" would have been a better description, it may only have been a chat one afternoon, which might explain the disappearing reference. The point I was trying to make is that to my ears they are quite similar in quality and sound. The filter on the OBE is fantastic IMHO, and it does remind me of Urs's efforts. The new sizable screen a total winner, they need to improve the browser. All I'm trying to say is, I like it and urge anyone to give it a try. I had almost written Gforce off after years of m-tron tapes, but if they have injected some new blood recently, well done that man. Keep it up, and don't forget to update impOSCar, saying that now I'm going to find out if I've missed a version as mine is 2.0.2 as well.... thanks to aMUSEd for the hint.

But it's got a piano roll, right? Same thing.
I envy the amazing one implemented into Studio One, and the pretty good one in Logic, both which pair well with the 'pattern' systems both DAWs offer.
I assume you don't know this, because if you did, you wouldn't ask me the completely silly question "does my DAW have a sequencer" as if that somehow renders SEM's 32-step sequencer useless.
Of course it does. You put the notes into your piano roll. Job done.
The SEM sequencer provides a different way of sequencing than my DAW.
No, it doesn't. It may provide a different method of input but the result is the same.
One that is fast, fun, and can be stored with a patch -- and, when desired, exported as MIDI to my DAW. Good stuff.
Uselss waste of time to me, made obvious by the need to export it to your DAW, when you could have just made it there in the first place. And your instrument set-up, including patch info and sequencer data, is all saved with the project, no need to store it in a patch at all.You ahve to realise that when they put a sequencer into the SH-101, it was because it didnt' have MIDI, so it made a bit of sense. That said, it was useless for me so I sequenced my SH-101 with CV-Gate. I don't recall ever using that stupid on-board sequencer.

No, it's actually nothing like that at all. The fact that you are unable to make any kind of actual argument to back up your "feeling" tends to demonstrate that there is no argument to be made, don't you think?

You've got a valid point there. I wouldn't have made that post if I could find an 'ignore' button on this forum.

Good lord you are obnoxious. Step Input Recording is not the same as DAW recording. How do you STILL not get this? DAW recording happens in REAL TIME. Step Input recording DOES NOT. The end result is the same, but the PROCESS of getting there is different. Different compositional processes lead people to write in different ways; new methods lead to new results. Shocking, I know, but there isn't just one way of doing things, despite your insistence that there is. And No, drawing in a piano roll in my DAW is not the same as playing notes into the step input recorder of SEM. They are literally different compositional processes, and why you keep insisting it's the same is beyond me---no wait, right, you fight about anything and everything, all the time, just for the fight. Gotta remember who I'm quoting here, don't I...

Regardless, I give zero craps whether you like it or find it useful, in fact, nobody asked... but your usual spew of "this is useless to me therefore it must be useless to everybody else and I'll die on this hill trying to prove it" behavior is, well, same old, same old Bones. The sad part is that here, even in a thread where you LIKE the plugin being discussed, you're still locked into 100% full-on Antagonist Contrarian mode. :tu:
