Elegant implementation. To be honest, this is beyond my expectations, well-designed MSEG usage. I really hope they will make drag&drop for user content in this update, because add something from outer world into Rapid now is a big pain in the ss....

It's basic probably to keep the cpu low.Neon Breath wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 2:40 am Their granular synthesis is (still) one of the best imo. Nothing to be ashamed of compared to Pigments or Serum.
You will have way more control with Falcon, Halion, Padshop, FMRS

Could you elaborate. If you have at least one user library created, drag & drop onto the display should directly import into the currently selected one.Dombaeb wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 6:36 am I really hope they will make drag&drop for user content in this update, because add something from outer world into Rapid now is a big pain in the ss....
Adding an exported user library should be one click too, via Oscillator Browser > LIBRARY > Add..

That's already how it works, though.HcDoom wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 11:05 am Adding samples is not intuitive at all. Last time I gave up after 5 min - can you do a tutorial or maybe just add drag and drop directly to osc?

First you must create a user library.HcDoom wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 11:23 am I dont see where do you click to open that menu with samples? If its just a regular explorer and dragging samples to osc - that doesnt work for some reason over here?

I meant granular effects on top on the synth, not granular synthesis itself. Very different things and results. I think it’s a pretty cool move from Parawave to have a granular effect upon their already existing granular synthesis.Gam456 wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 7:35 amYou will have way more control with Falcon, Halion, Padshop, FMRSNeon Breath wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 2:40 am Their granular synthesis is (still) one of the best imo. Looking forward to trying the Nano Cloud effect on other audio sources, assuming Rapid FX will be updated to include it as well.

Time to read manual again - but I still believe it can be more simple then it already is. Thx

Yeah, this is what I mean. I can’t just drag&drop from random place from my computer. I have to manage a "user library". It's not difficult for me to click a button to add a folder to the synthesizer, but I can't just take some random sound I like or want to try and drag it into Rapid right away. The current system with "user library" and stuff is archaic.

Agreed, a drag n drop option would be much easier

It already works by drag and drop. I demonstrated it above. There is a one-time setup requirement of creating your own user library, first. You only ever have to do this once after the first time you install Rapid. Once you've done that, drag and drop works forever.
The library system is not archaic, really. Rapid needs a place to store and reference large static content blobs (samples, wavetables...) that are to be used in patches. If you are making a preset pack, you will want to have all of these in a single library, which includes all of the patches and samples and wavetables, so that you can share it with others and have everything work, without also having to store duplicate copies of every sample within every preset.
You could argue that maybe Rapid should create a default user custom library if one doesn't already exist when the user first tries to drag and drop or import a sample. Yeah, might be a good idea. But, the library system itself is needed to avoid storing full duplicates of all large static content directly in the VST state. (You might have noticed this is becoming a problem in some other recent synths that default embed directly, where naive use of samples and wavetables makes the VST state in the project dozens of mb in each instance and the DAW project file becomes hundreds of mb.)

Sample drag and drop works flawlessly here too for regular sample import or resynthesis once you have a user library created, not sure what people are complaining about

I see... That was the problem with drag&drop without creating user library. I usually avoid creating folders from the synthesizer interface. But now I will.
