i kind of understand what it does, but not how, or what any of the technical stuff they talk about means? but i like things that help me mess sound up, few bits in the video gave me ideas, and there will be more to come!!

I was kind of thinking "this is extremely cool but do I really need it?" a few minutes after the Make Noise video. And then I watched Sarah Belle Reid's video, where she uses it for audio stuff, as well as some extremely excellent examples of using it on manually played parts and joystick stuff... and the answer is yes.

I decided it'll replace my seldom-used Xaoc Koszalin.

You’re going to love this little thing.

I haven’t watched Jeremy’s or Sarah’s videos yet, but having a blast with it (but not creating anything truly great).

Using output from Maths and adding 8 points of modulation for just 1 voice, while adjusting phase, spread and time is insane.

Using V/oct CV from Rene and then sending out to STO, XPO, Spectraphon and Mimephon’s micro tuning input is interesting - and I think it could be useful if thought out better than my attempt.

Morphagene as the source was insane. Changing the shape, changing the time and changing spread all have a crazy amount of effect to the input sound and playback. It’s like it has its own vari-speed (and says as much in the manual), but the phase + weighted distribution across the output is wild.

I need to watch their videos soon but they look way tooooooooo long for that much talking.

sarah has chapters, forbidden patches is where the real fun is, although she does explain the functions in a way i understood a little better than the launch video. or maybe she just confirmed what they said, either way after both videos i feel less mystified but just as excited

I’ve spent time with the manual, which is super short. The module itself is just 10hp, so that makes sense.

The biggest things I’m noticing is just getting a feel for the relationships for time, speed, and phase as it relates to a given input.

What’s missing from the manual, is how it processes audio. To me this is the greatest thing and goes back to what Shabs always says about getting modules that can do more. So not just an LFO, not just a crazy Mult, but also an audio effect x8.

Glad they are pushing the envelope instead of retreading the same old ground. Some of these new designs remind me of the outside the common paradigm thinking of folks like Keen Association and destiny+ but, of course MakeNoise are much more accessible (in terms of actually buying stuff and understanding what the thing does ).

I keep wondering how much of this has to do with Behringer.

This might be the positive side, if not also difficult and likely scary from a manufacturer’s point of view. Bringing new things to market.

I still see grumbles about Spectraphon especially after they included it on the bundled rack. Non traditional products are likely going to receive that love/hate much the same way there’s a love/hate of their font choices.

indeed, but im sure someone (may have even been sarah) said the manual is a work in progress. i havent looked yet, going through bopps manual so far.
looking forward to its arrival at some point in the future though, ideas are happening!!!!
