Seafire Mk2 wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 5:54 am Finally got a Behringer 3 tier stand, £35 Inc p+p on ebay, new in box

Been out of stock everywhere for ages, apart from Gear4Music, who wanted £28 postage from Sweden :o :nutter:

Anyway, should make the desk much tidier, and an excuse to but a 3rd unit :hihi:

( also planning on using it to make a template with my router for future projects  )
You'll need 2 stands. One for the 70HP and one for the 80HP units  . Actually, I'm pretty sure it's a deliberate ploy from Behringer, otherwise can't see why they'd release 2 different sizes. I'm already resigned to being a willing and susceptible victim. I have 2 x 70HP and 2 x 80HP units, so OBVIOUSLY I can't possibly have a gap on either of them. The bigger units have a reasonable choice - I could get a Proton or a JT2 happily enough, but 70HP is more limiting. The main one left is the ModelD which I don't want :? .
The only 70HP I want is the Cat.

My stand arrived Thursday so today I'm in the garden making copies with my router. MDF first, got enough for 5 pairs (tho first pair will be templates)

Gonna try some ply and other stuff later (luckily I still get free stuff from a timber yard I worked in 21 years ago :hihi: )

I'll send you a pair if you want

Going to try clear coat spray, and I think I have a can of black gloss spray somewhere...

So far in 2026:
Novation ReMOTE SL 49 w/ Novation carry bag for $50.
Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen for $25.

I already had a ReMOTE 37, but now I can keep it at home and the 49 can stay at the studio.
And I wanted the smallest portable interface that I could find for cheap, so the Focusrite fits the bill.
REAPER + Davinci Resolve Pro on Manjaro KDE. Neve 88m. Focusrite 18i20 2nd gen. Neumann NDH30 headphones. Mics: Telefunken TF39, AT4050, Miktek C7e, EV RE-15. VSTs: u-he Hive 2, F'em, Renoise Redux, Apisonic Speedrum 2.

I've been looking to get a new main controller keyboard but none of them really do anything from and have features that I would most likely never use. So I saw Sweetwater has the B UB-Xa on sale for $899 and am thinking that would make a nice controller, 61 key poly aftertouch keyboard with an analog synth for not much more than controller.
I don’t know how pricing on used keyboards works in the US but in the UK a few months ago I managed to pick up a mint condition Korg Keystage 61 for £230. Not only does it have poly aftertouch it’s also MIDI 2.0 so with the right DAW will auto align automation controls with the encoders.
I ended up ordering a Leviasynth instead to use as a controller, I also found a good deal on a Korg EX-8000 so I picked it up also.

Not much gets my pulse racing these days , but I have the Akai MPC Sample on pre-order. Looks like it might be the MPC I've been waiting for.

Seriously thinking about getting a PWM Mantis from Andertons. Currently 599 squids ($1275), which makes it worth doing even including shipping costs/tax across the world etc. Works out at $1850 on my back-of-an-envelope maths. If I got one from Aussie it would be at least $2300, probably more. Can't find a Mantis at under $2k anywhere else. Thoman etc sell them at 1000 squids. That's a spanking deal, and everything I've seen/heard tells me that Mantis = modern OSCar but with 4 voices and better.

Not sure I'm comfortable buying big ticket item 12000 miles away, but I won't get one here.

I just bought another Syntakt a few weeks ago to check out the new v1.40 update. It's cool, but it's really just got me GAS'ing for another RYTM mk2, so I'm contemplating making that swap.

I’ve only bought Tonverk in the last year . Thomann had a deal ( backpack & cover ) plus they announced investment . I didn’t buy one before that just in case it never had updates and I was left with a buggy mess .

The recent updates have helped . I didn’t return it within 30 days .. I’ve made some nice stuff on it too ( I have lots of other elektron devices too )

I started my AR for the first time in almost six months, deciding to make some new sounds for it. I don't know exactly what it is about the AR but the sound is just effing fantastic. Everything sounds better through the AR.

Do it.

Some recent projects have left me with some dosh to splash on the studio. Thinking about getting another Focusrite A16r and a few rack processors.
Buzz audio DBC-M, Black Box HG-2 and Hendyamps Michelangelo are on my short list but there are a few other things I’d like to try first.

Also looking at upgrading my Focal Solo6Be monitors with a three-way model. The obvious choice is a pair of Focal Trios but I kinda want to try out a newer pair of PMCs or ATCs. I used to love my Digidesign RM2s which were designed by PMC.

This looks pretty cool. Depending on the MIDI implementation, I might get one. Seems like the ideal west-coast flavored voice to pair with my Cirklon.
