I have a question about the Squids Tron Vol. 1 Refill. Will the samples be looped or un-looped?

Post

I've had my money waiting for vol 1 in Reason format for a long time now

i hope you go through with releasing it in that format (especially since IK decided to discontinue LE)

It will be exactly the same as it is in SampleTank format so both.

This place has been WAY too quiet. No posts since Tuesday?!

Any word on Omnisoundz 2, btw?

Doug, waiting for rare instruments, sampletron, omnisoundz, etc...
Logic is a pretty flower that smells bad - Spock, in "I, Mudd"

Squids -

any idea of what Sampletron will sell for? Even a ballpark figure. Trying to do some budgeting and would love to have an idea.

Will sampletron be able to play other sample sets, or will it (like SS2) be limited to its own samples? I assume that ST2 will be able to play all of them.

It will be limited to playing only SampleTron sounds (but also any sound in the Squids Tron Collection as a bonus). SampleTank 2.5 however will be able to play ALL of them.

In the 2-300 dollar range. Prices will be announced when released which will be soon. Video demos will follow.

Since it's been awhile without any posts in this thread, I thought I'd just be a pain in the ass  and ask if there were any updates on a release date for either Sampletron or even the Squids Tron Vol. 2 (as it's still listed on eSoundz.com)?

Sorry, I'm just so excited to start playing around with some of those sounds...jonesing for some Optigan loops, Chilton Talentmaker...you know, all that crap. :D

And if you're into those sounds as much as I am, check out www.roth-handle.nu -- the owner/producer there is totally into trons 'n' stuff. He's posted a couple videos on YouTube of some Mellotron noodlings and some dumbass posted a comment along the lines of "Why bother? Modern digital sampling has laid these dinosaurs of the past to rest."

He had a very amusing tongue-in-cheek response.

edit: Not that anybody using modern digital sampling is a "dumbass." :hihi: By that I mean that this guy was obviously ignorant of the vibe and coolness factor of the Mellotron.

"Soon," as we all know is the vaguest possible terms when it comes to release dates. Remember when we thought Squids V2 was "coming soon"? Back then gas was only a nickel a gallon and hot dogs were a penny and... oh, wait, it just SEEMS like it was that long ago.

Seriously Squids, what's up with this stuff? Any little pieces of info you can share with us - sample list, price, actual release date? Anything? Bueller?

There's some info in the Sonik Instrument news itself. Beyond that there's nothing new to report. Of course Squids Tron Vol. 2 was replaced by SampleTron so that's why that didn't happen.

As for when, it will be some time this Summer. SampleMoog will be first I believe then Studiophonik and then SampleTron. I do have a few extra surprises for SampleTron however. I've found something very rare and cool. But, I will save discussing it until the right time (for once). It's going to be really cool though!

Yes, I'm here. Sorry I've been scarce. It's been close to 7 years of a lot of KVRing for me so sometimes I take breaks and others cover for me (thanks guys) but I still love to be here no worries. I've also been busy on the plug-ins, libraries AND music! I am working over at Ocean Way Studios at the moment. We're finishing Ocean Way Drums which sounds so unbelievable it's hard to believe... hence it's unbelievablesness if you can believe it. :D

So, SampleTron in September. August is a slow month in Europe...lots of vacations etc. Although we're just cranking away on the three Sonik Instruments, the Studio ProFiles and the Ocean Way series at SR. We're almost there! A lot of cool stuff coming. I am spoiled because I've already been using it on my music projects and I don't know what I'd do without this stuff. Hopefully you will feel the same way!
