Interesting coincedence!!!!!

Tomorrow Monday I start a new daily show....

NETLABELS INC

http://www.eclecticmeme.com/link_netlabels.htm

So since you posted here, you are elegible for both the forums show "the hangout hour" and the new netlabel show.

I will be posting a compilation EP to promote EMC radio at http://www.archive.org/audio/netlabels.php in the next few weeks. The netlabel will be called EMC23.

If anyone wants to contribute PM or email me as the tune must not be available anywhere else to download.

All new tunes are being downloaded and will be added to next weeks playlists. I now create the new playlists at the weekend for the upcoming week.
Bear with me while I come to grips with the new software I'm using.

Once I have mastered it I willl begin hyperlinking the credits again. But you may notice that although the shows repeat three times over a twenty four hour period (ie every eight hours) the actual content of the shows are NOT repeated.

This is an extraordinary amount of work linking etc, but I am slowly developing the system. Varoius methodoligies for tagging (or not) makes linking a bitch.

Once this is complete, say another month or two then it will be time to start actually promoting the station.

I believe the look and feel of the website is taking shape. And the radio content is both diverse and proffesional. And huge, I have spent a large amount of time downloading nearly 30 gig of tunes.

Any help in this regard will be more than appreciated. Please feel free to comment or criticise, suggest playlists or featured artists.

The Shows:

* Netlabels Inc : Assorted tunes from the various netlabels around the world

* Free the sound : Random sounds from the Freesound Website

* Free the sound Live: Including live sets from the Grateful Dead, David Grey, Global Funk and thousands of others who allow their live shows be recorded and traded

* Hangout Hour: Music from the members of the KVR, the Auditorium, Electro-music.com and Computer music/future music forums.

*Techbots Ten at Ten and Weekly featured artists

This is very cool! Thanks for including me.

PS
If you have loads of tunes for download, you might consider the option of creating a few zip files.

If it makes my job easier then it must make everyone else's, who wants to download your catalogue.

Especially people who use download.php systems which require me to sit there and d'load one at a time.

Speaking of which I should really do this myself too.

later....

A Few updates:

Featured artists of the week:
This weeks featured artists are Griels and vurt. They will be aired after the techbot show every day this week at 10pm

Previous featured artists:
They join the growing list which are also played at 11pm in an hours music from all previous featured artists.

Scheduling:
There have been a few changes to the scheduling which can be found here http://www.eclecticmeme.com/radioinfo.htm and there are more to come. I've sorted out most if not all of the various scheduling issues and an updated playlist can be found on the hour here by pressing on the now playing button at the bottom of the site (beside the winamp button). I've updated the site to hopefully improve navigation. Your comments would be appreciated.

I have also posted up one of my mixes and I'm getting good response and have another few planned.

Another site Another show?:
I've recently stubled across this site http://ccmixter.org/ . It is a forum site dedicated to remixes under the CC license. I am still going through it but the concept is sound and so far the music is cool, though I've only heard the editors choices so far. If there is enough material it might warrant its own show.

Anyway many thanks to everyone who has contributed so far.

Do you have any plans to keep up to date with what's on the musician's sites?

- we might post or mail new submissions, and supply you with 'incremental' zipfiles (containing only the new stuff) (at your Auditorium forum maybe?)
- we could upload 'ALL submissions' zipfiles to our sites, for you to DL every now and then

What do you think?

(and BTW, thanks for including me :D )

Thanks for the questions. They raise issues which are starting to emerge.

If i'm kept informed of course I update. But there is only a select few that actually take the time to.
The contributer list is nearly 200 I think and there are 1000's of Netlabels.I am subscribed to numerous RSS feeds on new releases. It's difficult to return to peoples sites on a regular basis. It is also difficult to take the time to listen to material by people who haven't yet given their permission.

**************************************************
For people with only one or two songs they might consider posting in themed threads at the auditorium or maybe inform the relevant moderator there.
From these I can make compilations for reviews, shows etc.
***************************************************
I have several review volunteers who don't have internet connections but rely on CDs from me.

If the tunes are packaged as zip releases it also makes it easier to review them as a set.

And Spe3d has already suggested using the forum to upload material.

It would make it so much easier for mewhich would benefit everybody coz I would make less mistakes

cheers Techbot -------- great idea

I've got a webpage at www.soundclick.com/2ndmouse that has 16 tracks that could be used if you think they're up to the job. The 2 that cant be downloaded are set aside for the new " sinewinder " katrina-relief cd , but anything else is fair game. Fill yer boots !!!!!

Yes, it's upgrade time

Today we move from 64k to 128k as promised when we started just over six months ago.

This project is still young and I hope nobody has been put off by the teething problems.

The EMC internet account has been upgrade to 2meg up 2meg down. This means I will be able to download tunes without affecting the stream consistancy.

Also the shows are slowly being divided into various themed ones backed up with reviews with a view to making them more podcast friendly and adding real life presenters.

There are now eight people now scouting for tunes. So if I'm not playing your tune and you see someone with an EMC sig, complain to them .

But most importantly.

Turn on (the computer) Tune in (to the station) and Drop Us ( a post here)

Feel free to criticise. If the station is not running smoothly 24/7 then I need to know.

Please tell others when you like their tune that they should submit it to EMC.
Please tell others when you hear their tune on the radio.

I am currently stock taking and will email each contributer seperatley and list the tunes I currently have from them on the playlist and we can work out what stuff I have missed!!!!!!!! :D

Obviously you can still post submissions here. I will start downloading once I get everything straightened here.

Also remember there is a forum specificaally for discussing the content over at
http://the-auditorium.net/viewforum.php?f=56

Also checkout the various additions to the site
including the vote for techbot button on the techbot page.

Please feel free to forward suggestions for new shows or even record an hour of a show yourself, or make a jingle.

Of course we could always do with a link from your site. checkout
http://www.eclecticmeme.com/banners.htm

for graphics that you can use if you wish.

Don't only suggest your own tunes, push others. The better the shows the better for everone!!!!
