"Peter and co" .. I like the sound of that. Perhaps it is now time to try to float my "CEO For a Day" company incentive program idea again! :)

Hey guys look at what I wrote on April 13th. LOL. I am a prophet.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? :D

I strongly doubted the meter would be where its at currently at this point in time.. either a lot of you are ordering multiple times or there is a larger computer music userbase than I suspected.. :c0

Oh... I had forgotten that it was you who wrote that. That is rather entertaining. Good on you for admitting it and reminding us! :-)

So I take it your opinion has changed considerably with regards to ST sounds?

It isn't mostly multiple buys from what I'm told - I would guess there's a similar market to the T-RackS Singles group buy that topped 5,000 but ran for a different amount of time, different price point, etc, so not exactly a 1:1 comparison.

Sorry - I realize I could have through 300+ pages on this thread to find the answer, but I need to know what kinds of content I would be losing if I went with Sampletank 2.5 XT versus XL.

Yes I know it's 1GB versus 6GB, and that XL content must be killer, because of the price difference.

But I listen to the demos of XL, and I'm blown away by a lot of the sounds - especially the saxes - the sound so expressive, not like GM saxes.

I don't see any saxes in the sample packs which are available in this group buy, so is there a way to cherry pick your favorite content of XL for use in XT, or is the 6GB of content which comes with XL otherwise unattainable?

Thanks

Pbognar, the SampleTank 2XL sounds are awesome! You don't really want to be without them. There are great pianos and horns, and all sorts of great instruments.

BUT... you don't want to be without these Xpansion packs either. These have lots more great stuff of a similar quality and at a phenomenal price. I would strongly recommend joining this GB for now, and then considering afterwards when you are ready to spend the money on the 2XL soundset. There is zero overlap between the full 2XL soundset and the 1GB soundset that comes as a bonus in this GB.

If you want to be SET with sounds that you apparently seem to like, I'd get in on this and get six (soon hopefully seven) Xpansion Tanks and then qualify for the crossgrade to XL. If you don't have any qualifying IK products now, THIS is the way in.

Very very new to all this stuff, but loving Sampletank. I know it is viewed as primarily a Rompler, but I've been playing loading up some samples. As we will all be addicted to acquiring new Sampletank sounds but will have no money left (even at such a fantastic value) 'cos we have each joined a squillion times, is it OK to distribute sounds for free on here when all this is finished? I have permission from the person who recorded the sampled notes originally. There's no copyright on the format, is there? Thought it might be best to check with a man who would know!!

PS: Squidz has nothing to worry about...they won't even come close!!

Perhaps someone who has the "SampleTank Rare Vintage Collection Vol. 1" or the "Sonic Reality Bonus Disc for Sampletank 2.5" can post a sounds list.
And here is the folder list for the Sonic Reality Bonus Disc:

    • --SR Reggaeton Beats
      --SR Rock Grooves
      --SR Soul Grooves
      --SR Vint Beatbox
    • Bonus World Instruments > 9 instruments
    • From Omni (which contains about 28 instruments from Omnisynth 1)
    • From Studiophonik OT > Big Room Kits > Ludwig (1 kit)
    • Orchestra MV > 1 orchestra patch
    • SR Bonus Disc Combis > 24 Combis

You mean something like putting them into the KVR sound banks, etc? Full permission or your own stuff should be no problem. If you go and pull in something other than that you'll be playing with fire of course.
