well, you dont really need an actual rack for that, there are standalone matrix mixers and CV sequencers... might be cheaper that way.Constructed Identity wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:56 am I am worried I'll give in and finally get a eurorack set up. Something to fit a West Pest, matrix mixer, and potentially a Subharmonicon... Had the chance to really dive into one last weekend and it was really nice sounding. The kind of box that specializes instead of trying to appeal to a wide audience. Didn't like its sequencer, but that's why it should be in a eurorack. There are better options to sequence it.

the pests sequencer is cool too. that and the subharmonicon, together is plenty to start with and see then if you need more?

Backed the Midronome project on KS. I knew about it from the beginning, but it only just occurred to me that I probably could use one.

Completed a trade for Op1 and SP-404 MK2 (I said goodbye to the BlackBox and a few Meris pedals).
I'm not sure I'll keep either of these, but I've always wanted to try them out. Having an OP-1 feels a bit dirty for some reason, but I'm gonna see what all the fuss is about, and I'm happy to do it with this before gassing for an OP-1 field.
Here's Tango tiring of the clacking sounds. He's not impressed by the built-in speaker.

I don't own an OP-1 myself but I think they're great! Tons of fun. The second hand prices were pretty outrageous for a while but now that OP-1 field exists, it seems like asking prices on the original have come back down to a reasonable level. Have fun!
That Midronome looks a lot like if the ERM MIDI Clock had more of the Multiclock's features. Very cool!

Since I'm pretty busy until the end of the year, I opted to have Portabellabz build my Music Easel for me (but I will be building 266 and 291 modules myself). I just received pictures of the assembled 208 and it looks beautiful! I'm so stoked!
I can't wait to see it in it's case with the 218.

Looks impressive, I’m excited to see it all together too.
OP1 is interesting. I’m happy I got it for the bits I wasn’t using instead of the earlier used prices.
I’m not sure I would have been happy paying full price for this, but I can see why people like it.
I’m likely going to keep this for a while. I’m sure I’ll like it a bit more, the longer I use it.
The Roland SP-404 mk2, I haven’t don’t much with and I think it’s gonna be a smarter decision to sell or trade it off.
It has a different workflow and I think it’s just gonna mess me up as the Elektron gear is what I’d use first and I’m picking up the OP1 quickly since it’s easier than the OP-Z.

Yes, I have the page for Matrise bookmarked. I am in no hurry to decide now but next year I might just dive in and find out as I go along how I'll set it up via the old trial-and-error method...whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 9:11 amwell, you dont really need an actual rack for that, there are standalone matrix mixers and CV sequencers... might be cheaper that way.Constructed Identity wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:56 am I am worried I'll give in and finally get a eurorack set up. My PolyBrute stole the desk space occupied by my Virus TI1 keyboard, so I replaced it with a Polar TI2

The thing that is going to replace my Odyssey arrived-

Now I have to figure out how to get just midi notes to trigger it, but it already can sound great with one little patch...

Congrats on the Grey Meanie! I got the BlueMarvin after encouragement from Shabdahbriah and I don’t regret it.

I really would love one of those, but it's just a bloody awkward shape. Too tall to stick on my desk as it would get in the way of my PC monitors, too high for my stand as it would take up the space where I could stick two synths. I do actually have a 19 inch rack it would fit in, but there's nowhere I could put it that doesn't get in the way of other stuff. Shame, I do like the look of it and it would probably work really well with my eurorack gear.
Meanwhile was playing around with Phoscyon 2, D16's update of their 303 clone, and it's really fun to use, just a doddle to program on the fly, the complete opposite of the real thing. Though it does have some of its own effects I turned those off and instead teamed it with Arturia ColdFire distortion and u-he MFM 2.5 and that's a funky combo.

Yea, it is kind of in-between sized - smaller than an Odyssey but bigger than most table-top mono synths. It does have better ergonomics though, the power button and headphone out are front right.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sat Oct 15, 2022 11:04 pm I really would love one of those, but it's just a bloody awkward shape. Also, the grey contrasts well with most black keyboards.
