Would be nice with Hexel to be able to tweak the pitch of the cells individually as well as transpose the whole lot at once

Yes, that would be very cool. I played with the demo for a while. I would also like to see:

1) MIDI drag and drop or at least file save in MIDI format, understanding that some output evolves over several measures. Maybe save or drag "x" bars.

2) Pattern "quicksave" slots. It is rather fun and easy to create variations, but saving as separate files in Explorer is a pain (Windows here).

I'm not having any success getting the demo to show up in Studio One 6, but I'm also having the same problem with Pitchmap.

Without an option to set the root note/scale and automatically transpose absolutely useless, could not believe when playing with the demo and searching for the "settings" tab but there really is none :dog: .

Really dont know what they had in mind doing this without in 2022.....

With root note/scale would be a nice toy....

In some ways Hexel's greatest strength is its limitations. I'm getting some amazing generative stuff out of it. Maybe a transpose tool would be cool so that when it hits a transpose cell the pitch gets shifted up a set amount

Kevin Perry posted this link over on the Cakewalk Deals Forum. I forgot that CodeFN42 had a freebie similar to Hexcel. Only Windows VST2 but 32 and 64 bit available.

reminds me of the quite wonderful Cracklefield by szcz http://waveforms.fairlyconfusing.net/20 ... encer.html

^That's what I was thinking. Has key/scale and so much more.
I had the privilege of beta testing it.
Another wonderful one of his I tested is:

Hmm. Interesting.
Will consider buying.

Edit: Just noticed that MaxforLive is Essential. :(

i dont think it has anything the HY-Seq dont have
oops yes it does - being able to modulate the play/lfo frequency is not possible with HY-seq. I asked Tadashi about that and it is not possible with his architecture. But I think there are other things where the HY-Seq offer their own advantage.
As always, most of these good sequencer things are worthwhile for the different approaches they offer to sequencing

It’s pretty cool but over priced in my opinion.

I tested the Hexcell one too, super fun, but no swing or scale options makes it a no go for me.

Hexcel has a few automation bugs in Reaper which I have reported. I am not so concerned about transpose as that can be automated and with a 'snap to key' midi effect I mostly get what I want. But would be better if it were included, maybe a piano key representation of an octave that lets one choose what notes to restrict the sequencer to. Lots of devs use that method
