2022 has been such a great year in terms of gear purchases. I think that the only thing that I've purchased is computer speakers. Ok, they weren't exactly cheap computer speakers.

Looks like the dock is f**ked. There's a known issue where a particular couple of caps on the internal PSU blow, and opening it up it definitely looks like they're deformed.
But although I have various boxes of caps I dont have any of the right ones to hand (680uF electrolytics) so Ive had to order some. So that's my audio hardware purchasing for this week.

Back in the second half of 2000 I didn't have a working studio and hadn't made anything for years.
Now, I have five great synths and am just about to get a Furman surge protector -because its about time...
Not very exciting, but is this a good buy:

and yes, that's a good buy at that price, a suspiciously good price indeed! as elxsound says, id be wary of this seller

Price has been 'updated' an hour ago, and reduced to $450. I've personally had to sell many things at a loss greater than that, when absolutely desperate...but still. I'd only consider this if I could see it, and pick it up directly. Definitely 'buyer beware' territory.elxsound wrote: Wed Oct 19, 2022 11:49 pmIs that seller legit? $2k Make Noise system for only $700?Constructed Identity wrote: Wed Oct 19, 2022 11:39 pm Back in the second half of 2000 I didn't have a working studio and hadn't made anything for years.

I got a pair of Suhr Discovery bbd delay pedals that I'm really excited about. I'd been looking for a stereo bbd delay, but everything I looked at was no longer available - they don't seem to be on the market for long. They're lovely things - sound amazing, very full-featured, and you can control all of the parameters via midi (rather than just the tempo). I have them as a stereo send from my DAW via a Radial stereo re-amp box, and I'll be able to automate everything from within Logic.

I think that I'll buy Mackie Onyx 24 this or next week. I need one to plug all synths and RD-9, which takes plenty of channels by itself (because the main output has this irritating high-pitch noise).
I would prefer to have USB Multitracking post-fader, but oh well... Most likely, I'll end up with raw sessions in DAW + full stereo mix on SD Card.
Researching to find the best 20+ channels mixer makes me feel sick. No mixer in a similar price range has post-EQ, post-fader multitrack recording through USB. Some even have only 16bit stereo USB output.
Soundcraft MTK22 was a second runner, but from demos I heard, it's adding this mushy, soft 'analogue' sound that is not good for electronic dance music. The last thing I need is for a mixer to soften kick drums.
I wish Tascam Model 24 would be at the same price. Then I would take that one instead.
