I just read that Brian Wilson (of the Beach Boys) is offering to personally call anyone who donates $100 to Katrina Relief and match the donation! http://www.brianwilson.com/.

Perhaps he's willing to post a banner or a mention in his forum? Or perhaps he'll call Ben[KVR] once we donate and let him post an audio "attaboy" or something.

get him to pre-order a CD too..

Chrysalid: KVR Musicians for Katrina Relief

I suppose a lot of people in this community are aware of www.kvraudio.com. If you're not, they're a clearing house for information and reviews on music software.

I'm a member of the forums there and a group of us have been organizing to release a double CD, all of the profits from which are being donated to help the victims of hurricane Katrina.

We've been taking pre-orders to pay for the CD manufacturing costs and have received a HUGE amount of help from the softsynth & plug-in developer community.

So far we've given away:
1 copy of Rob Papen's Blue
1 copy of EnergyXT
5 plug-ins from Voxengo
1 instrument from Kong Audio
1 copy of Garritan Jazz & Big Band library
1 copy of Camel Audio's Cameleon 5000, CamelSpace and CamelPhat
3 copies of the latest CD by Australian dark ambient wonderboy, Gwydi

These are challenge prizes. Once we reach the specified number of pre-orders, a random drawing is made and the prize awarded.

I must say that I am totally overwhelmed with the support here. I personally hope that I win something, but the real truth is that we all win. That sounds cheesy and cliche-ish, but it's so true. There are thousands of dollars of prizes that surely have had a HUGE impact on the pre-orders.

Now, who do I have to bribe to get that BFD?

The cutoff date for submissions was last weekend mate

HOWEVER, you can still submit a song that will be placed in perpetuity on the Katrina Relief Artist's Website... which will be way cool also

Since I won Pristine Space, Aleksey gave me permission to transfer my PS Light. I inquired about donating it back here as a prize but it was thought not a good idea given all the other great stuff in the pipeline.

I just sold the PS Light. I gave some of that back to Aleksey in a sale so he'd get something out of it, and I just preordered another disc, to give the rest back here.

And xRAVENx, hold the Resonance CD again - no need to spend on shipping for that - I'll PM you as well.

If a bloke didn't make the CD deadline, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to do up a heart-felt song contribution for the website to help the cause, for sure

The more, the merrier, though I will say now that...

...ANY and ALL submissions will be vetted for technical quality and competency/merit/relevance before they are allowed on the site. I state this to make sure everyone knows that we won't alow the Katrina Artists' Website to become a dumping ground for rejected contest songs and other such irrelevant tunes. Songs that are well crafted and appropriate to the theme will be promptly considered.
