Well I got in just before the gun...Dave it was your amazing finger-drumming on youtube that pushed me over the edge!

I just really hope you're able to give us that "choose 3" option you mentioned in another thread. I don't have the Infinite Player, but I'd much rather have the Jazz Ludwig kit than the other options. Thanks for the generosity!

THANKS
Yes. It just won't count as a number in the group anymore. So it won't affect any more extras but we'll make it available for 2 more weeks at this price with all of the extras just for that reason. In that time we're still going to be doing new demos for the DM2 stuff in this because they are part of the Signature Series and we need to do demos anyway. Also videos are a new thing we're going to be doing per product as a standard thing.
AWESOME !! That's just what I wanted to hear :)

BTW: Are there any more plans for KONSTRUCTION that was mentioned earlier this year. I have it but haven't heard or seen it mentioned in awhile
Yes, we have a big update for current Konstruction Loop Paks and the MAIN Konstruction Loop Workstation is going to be released soon as both with something very cool and new which is that the loops are broken up into categories like drums, bass, percussion, keys etc. and then made into a Multi so you can experiment swapping out the keys of one song over the drums of another to see what happens. It's really fun for people that want to work with loops - plus there are built-in effects and other cool features.

I remember reading that you can adjust the kick and snare level, but can you send everything to separate outputs? And how many everythings are there? I thought there was something about rooms and oh's not being separate.

thanks

We call these "STm" which stands for Stereo/Multichannel. The kit pieces themselves are stereo mixed (as opposed to discrete mic channels per kit piece like our Multitrack kits are). But you can adjust the level of each kit piece - snare, kick, toms, hats, ride, china, splash... more info here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 86#3917086

You can run each drum into separate outputs into your DAW. 16 stereo outputs per instance.

Squids wrote:Yes, we now have a really good foundation of Infinite Player users. What that means is that you can add over time the vast range of Sonic Reality's "Sample Everything" archives. We're bringing over all of our best sounds that have been released in other formats like Squids Tron Collection and all of the orchestral stuff we've ever done, vintage keyboards, guitars, vocals... not just drums. But when it comes to drums there will be STm kits and kit pieces you can add for the things you always wanted to have like signature snares from famous drummers or rare cymbals or just a variety of samples to choose from because as I was saying earlier the level of production for being able to just swap out a snare or a hi hat or a kick is so great! EQ it or find the right snare in the first place. Something that would be very tedious and expensive to do in a real live session (although I know drummers that cart all of that around to do it) is just so easy with this.

Anyway, more about the Infinite Player range of sounds from Sonic Reality later. Right now it's all about this Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle and it's past midnight! The GB is officially over. 601 people actually. GREAT JOB to everyone and you earned those 2 extra STm kits (JB Tama and the Chicago Gretsch kit from Drum Masters Signature). That's going to be integrated right into phase 2. If you want to read how we're dividing the content for delivery into three phases you can here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 86#3917086

Downloads will start being available before noon tomorrow. We tried to do it this evening but have to resume in the morning as it is a lot of work and everyone is about ready to drop. This was amazing but it was 10 times harder to do over the holidays. But it's so worth it and we're really grateful to all of you for making this a huge success and enjoyable. I think this was one of the best Group Buys we've had. What do you think? It was really fun. Some laughs, stories, philosophy, drama, suspense down to the last minute (like a 3 point shot from center court). Now the fun begins... massive patience for massive amounts of downloading. Bear with us! We will make sure everyone gets all of the stuff they purchased as soon as possible.

Thank you again from everyone at eSoundz. We appreciate your participation, positive vibes and enthusiasm! That's what made this one so big.
So coming down to the actual actual wire (Central Time?) at this point?! WOW...WHAT an AMAZING (okay, someone turn his caps keys off!) Group Buy! Thanks to all the hard working esoundzers!

Squids: I'm pretty sure I've bought into all or certainly most of the previous drums GB's. Re the JB Tama and Chicago Gretsch bonuses, I have all of JB's kits (multi and stereo) from previous GB's...at least i think I do -it really is hard to keep up with ALL that is offered! Does Tam = Tama?

I need to put together an Excell spreadsheet or something! I have Gretsch also, but that is NDV. How does that differ from Chicago? And is there a possiblity that there is some duplication for us previous GB'ers with the bonus material in this one?

I wonder if there is a way to create hybrid kits so that my kits can sound different from everybody elses?

Congratulations everybody. We went really far with this one!
The more kit pieces you have to work with the more unique combinations you can make with Hybrid Kits. For the Drum Masters Signature series it is ALL ABOUT the hybrid kits you can make combining different kit pieces together. I mean it's all about great presets too but... to me the power of that in how I'd use it in writing and production is just the easy of being able to try out different kit pieces for the song... no, not that snare, no not that one, aha THAT'S the one! Then you can tweak from there with fx. OR what you can do is put the effects in the output mixer at the bottom and slot in different snares going to that output of effects to hear them with the same effects applied instantly... there are so many things you can do the way we've done this in Kontakt. There's a lot to talk about, a lot of useful tips and tricks that I think people are really going to like. There's a lot more to collect too. This collection sounds massive and it IS but trust me when you are spoiled by being able to choose any snare out of 50-100 different models, brands, famous drummer's snares, wood, brass, steel, with muting with no muting and full ring with this mic or that mic... that is not only production power but just plain fun! It took us YEARS to have all of this. It's not something that just popped up out of nowhere. Years of traveling around to different studios, finding cool instruments to sample, editing hundreds of thousands of individual hits all to be where we're at now with a massive range of drum samples to dig into and this group buy is just the tip of the iceberg for that!

So don't worry. One can get VERY original with their creations even just in this GB bundle but mathematically increasing with the various expansions and ugprades possible moving forward. A sound junky's dream.

Thanks for the reply. I'm getting close to understanding. So, the rooms and oh's for the snare are mixed with the snare, kick rooms and oh's with the kick, etc.?

bb

edit; I wasn't really being very clear, but I'm trying to figure out how "mixable" these are.

I just realized that with 600+ participants there are more than SIX HUNDRED PEOPLE out there who are going to have the same drum kits that I have. That sucks man! I want my drums to sound unique and interesting, and now everybody and their dog has these kits.
Its not just how they sound, its what you do with them... 8)

The JB Tam and Tama are the same yes. So you have that set of samples for that kit (although there's new kit patches with the new features).

The Chicago Gretsch is not the NDV Gretsch but a version of the Blues MT kit in STm form which was never released before as a stereo or STm. That one is simple but very nice.

Also the NDV Premier kits were never released as stereo or STm. But the NDV Gretsch STm kit is the same samples as the DM1 NDV Gretsch stereo kit.... but of course with the new features.

The 4 MT kits are the same DM1 MT kits but with the new Multi patches that have the new scripts. But if you own the DM1 versions of those kits the new Multis are a free upgrade for you so try to choose ones you don't have.

The Jazz kit is part of the new DM2. Never before released. Nice kit to have. Nothing fancy but a good organic jazz sound.

JB Sonor kit and JB Tama Brush, NDV Blasticks are all from DM1 series but not everyone had all of those (unless you have DM1 Platinum or bought them a la carte). The rest of the kits have a lot of new stuff that no one could have had before. At some point soon I am going to make some charts that show what is from what etc. so it is easier to follow. The Drum Masters line is changing DRASTICALLY (and simplifying a bit) in 2010 with the release of version 2. More on that soon.

But besides some of the crossover with DM1 here in the samples the other part of this is the hybrid kits combining with OWD. That's where it becomes a beautiful FRANKENSTEIN of kit combinations that is unique to this bundle. For $99 it is worth it no matter what past Drum group buys you've been in. Of course that is a matter of opinion but I do strongly believe there are enough great sounds in this to make it worth it for anyone. Obviously the person who is totally new to DM and OWD really gets a steal. But that's good too! The more people that uset his platform the more patch sharing and community activity we can do. It's all going to tie in together and I think it will all become more and more powerful and useful to each person.

In the "STm" kits yes - the main kits of this bundle. The bonus MT (Multitrack) kits however have discrete mic mixing (under snare, rooms, overhead and more) per kit piece but of course that takes up more computer power to run for that, more polyphony, ram etc. But there is quite a bit that can be done easily when the kit pieces like kick, snare etc. have the directs, OH and room pre-mixed. Easier to manage for most people... and then we have convolution reverb in the plug-in with exclusive ambiences from famous studios to use. So... the room can be simulated back in that way and mixed relative dry/wet. Not as good as Multitrack with the room multisampled but it is a great quick tool that is fun and also flexible (changing different rooms, eccho chambers, plates etc is a nice option).

Thanks for answering that.

I hope you're not a work, but at any rate you're working. I'm in the same time zone as you and it's late. I'm sitting in my big fat chair in my living room and you should be too.

Okay. It's officially over. Final number was 605! Well done! Congrats everyone. It was all because of YOU! I hope you guys got some good epointz referrals too. You will be able to use those for future expansions for Infinite Player or other downloadable sounds.

Actually I am in Mexico City at the moment... supposed to be on vacation but who knew this was going to be this big? We predicted 200... woops! I guess a lot of people like really cool DRUMS! I know I do. These really are a lot of fun. People are going to get into this big time.

Anyway, this is relaxing and fun chatting on here and helping. We work hard to please everyone. Plus no one wants everyone to understand it fully than me being the owner of the company.

You probably shouldn't be using sampled drums, then. :)
