But if you change your picures of the knobs it can happen that after changing you can´t see where are the knobs....xander wrote:SureIt's not brain surgery -- Just recolour the bitmaps.. in FL - they're in the 'Artwork' folder.
Sure, it'd be easier if Gol did it and then provided several coloured skins, but if it's bothering people as much as they say, then they can change it to whatever they want... In fact, I once thought about doing up various skins and offering them for d-load, but I can't be arsed to do it & don't really have the time and don't really mind the grey colours at allIt's the music I care about and FLS does a perfect job for me on everything I do...

Just go to
C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FLStudio5\Artwork\Skins\Default
Then look for whatever you want to change..
Like SSBack.bmp (this is the background for the step sequencer..)
Go to your folder as mentioned above and copy SSBack.bmp to a safe place.
Then recolour a copy of the bmp image to whatever you like. You'll now have a new background colour for your step sequencer.. try it..

I did that for two years flowing with the changes...FL5 came out and at first I said I'll get around to it, now FL6 is on the horizon and I'm thinking why bother

Indeed mate -- that's the hell of it, keeping all yer custom graphics up with the new version changes... In FL6.0, the mixer will be resizable...Hink wrote:I did that for two years flowing with the changes...FL5 came out and at first I said I'll get around to it, now FL6 is on the horizon and I'm thinking why bother
I really don't mind the grey colours anyway. It's just another workspace to me is all...
I DO make the FL Desktop different sometimes, since they make it so bloody easy to do...

Easy? That´s the normal method that most vst´s use, too. If they had written a reademe file that contains the skin changes then that would be easy. For me it´s easy but not experienced users can damage the interface lot....xander wrote:Indeed mate -- that's the hell of it, keeping all yer custom graphics up with the new version changes... Is it possible to destructively apply MIDI effects to a track in FL5?.
For example, if you went into Channel Settings >> Func and added an arpeggio/delay/echo effect to the channel, how can I see the added "notes" in the piano roll view? I don’t know if this feature was already implemented but I don’t see any info on it in the manual.

I always thought it was silly how you can't simply select the Hz of a wav file upon export.

that's a pretty good one...for the Mixer..if that's what you mean...otherwise click off whatever you don't want to hear.

Um, you can, if I don't misunderstand you. Just change the number in the top left corner of the step sequencer. Voila. You can have all kinds of polyrhytms and stuff. And your patterns can then have different length, so you can set, for example, three 4/4 patterns above four 3/4 patterns.Chase wrote:yes but it's frustrating and oyu have to line it up. If you could change it for each pattern it would be perfect.
I would like some way to make the grid snap to some unusual lengths, like quintets, so I could have a 5/4 rhythm going against a 4/4, both taking the same time (as if the 5/4 had a bit faster tempo). You can do this with the snap none selection, but then you have to count the position of every single note and that's quite difficult to do.
