This one prefers Pepsi and can usually tell Coke from Pepsi. Other brands are usually harder to tell but those two brands have pretty distinct tastes. (This is for the bottled kind, not fountain soda, which is usually mixed a mite weak and can vary rather a lot.)

Apparently Pepsi always came top in blind tastings because it tastes more appealing when you just have a sip. Coke comes out on top when people are asked after having a whole drink.

No. you'd give them four blank cups... say, Pepsi, Coke, Pepsi, RC Cola.Meffy wrote:So every person you've tested guessed the exact opposite? I find that... just a little hard to believe.Toxikator wrote:I've never EVER seen someone get it right. EVER.
They'd guess Coke, Pepsi, Pepsi, Pepsi or something. Sure, they may have gotten that one Pepsi right at slot three, but they've clearly demonstrated absolutely no ability to make the distinction, so they fail the test.
Pepsi came out on top in the taste tests, AFAIK, because of things like what temperature the drinks were served at... also they marked one bottle M and another Q, and people picked Pepsi (M). tests were later done where the letters were switched and coke came out on top (demonstrating that the drink doesn't matter, but people prefer the letter M
