Well, you can't always please everyone. The midi functionality is tied to all of the other cool features of it. That's just the way it is offered. Maybe IK will be nice and let Ampeg SVX users also have it for free, maybe JH users too at least for the launch of it. All I know is that if any of you peeps are thinking about getting any of those products just think of Squids and the Gang over at www.esoundz.comredshift factor wrote:Yeah, that policy is starting to look a lot better.
However, it still leaves owners of just one Amplitube product who want MIDI control out in the cold.
I must say that IKMM's logic that X-GEAR is a "new product" is faulty though. By their own admission it is just functionality that was going to be included in a future update, and they cannot sell X-GEAR as a standalone product. It is of absolutely no use to anyone who doesn't own at least one supported Amplitube product already, and then all it does is provides them with the MIDI capabilities that should have been there to start with.
I think the point of X-Gear is for people to be psyched about it. Yeah the midi control part is cool but the expandability part is even cooler and that requires a purchase of more than one AT powered product (good thing there's a crossgrade discount!). How about focusing on how freakin' cool it is for a change?
