You do have one, though, don't you? :P

As always, the bduffy seal of approval on an effect is my signal to get serious about it. 8)
Well, I wish I could get serious about this effect, but SM stuff just doesn't work well over here. Bootsie will get more play with the next computer (come on, house: sell! sell! ).

Did you notice Susiwong's ecstatic response to the bootise stuff in that compressor thread? Don't take my word for it. ;)
So, if I follow this to its logical conclusion, reading only the OP and then the last post (yours) left out some vital information. What's the issue with this and other Bootsy plugs?

If the housing market up there is anything like down here, could be a while before you have spending money for a new computer. What are you getting, by the way. I'm starting to look at laptops (to compliment the five-year-old Dell I've upgraded about as far as I'm going to).

The problems I have with SynthMaker-made plugins are:

1) They take forever to load
2) They use a lot of CPU
3) Weird graphics problems
4) No good in Wavelab

It's nowhere near as bad as it is in the US, especially in my area, but I won't get what I should for it, thanks to those rapacious financiers.

My next computer will be something really, really special, and I might go with a laptop for design work and get a super-audio machine from something like PCAudioLabs or go into a local shop and say, "look: I want the cleanest, fastest f**king audio machine ever built; do not sell me any quixotic motherboards or parts, and make sure this machine runs like clockwork, or I'll come back and kill you and your family". Something like that. :hihi:

I'm so sick of non-working machines, I won't do it again. I know you like Dells, so I might do that for the graphics machine.

As much as I'd love to use Bootsie's plugins, I haven't gotten any of them to work on my machine. Not in Sound Forge, Reaper, or FL. I haven't had any trouble with other SM plugs, so I'm guessing it's my system, something particular. :(
I'll be trying this update, fingers crossed.

I use Sound Forge 9.0e, which is fairly solid (at least compared to earlier versions) with effects, but I do find there are graphics issues with certain plugs even though I have 64 mb of video ram and there's nothing else running. Plugs from Flux, Waves (the API ones, in particular) and a few others that I can't remember right now seem to rewrite themselves every time the mouse is moved over them. But I don't think I've had issues with SM plugs.

Those bastards.

Make sure they write this down on the order sheet verbatim, so there's no question about what you're buying. I hope they can spell quixotic, and know what it means.

Well, compared to Acid Pro, Sound Forge seems less fussy about validating plugs. I thought Reaper would load anything. Nothing quite as frustrating as not knowing what the system is doing to cause problems with seemingly well-coded software.

Sound Forge has always been solid for me in terms of loading almost any FX plugin, even back when I needed a wrapper for the VST plugins. Still seems true. I've gotten less patient with messing around to try and figure out what's happening, faster to delete what's problematic. I assume if I'm the only one with issues, or one of only a few, it's my system. Doesn't mean it's broken, just not compatible. Anyway, still hoping...

If they do, then it's a sale. Hell, I'm not sure if I spelled it right... :scared:

Seriously. I went back to ACID 3 to avoid the bloody horrible startup times and failed plugins.

bootsie wrote:Oki,

that maintenance update for BootEQ will be out this week too and will fix some stability and GUI glitch issues.

Since there where some complains about GUI readability and contrast I've already improved that a little bit (see left one is 1.0 and right one will be 1.1). Hope that is ok so far. Overall concept won't be touched.

stay tuned,

Brilliant!! Thanks!

Will there be any updates for Density, Rescue and Nasty LF?

Sorry for your troubles, Cordelia. Bootsie's stuff works like magic here in FL and Reaper on my old Athlon & Xp. They can chew through the cpu, but I am working on a 6yr old hatchet job.
..what goes around comes around..

Thanks, ouroboros. When I read these Bootsie threads I feel like a kid who's stuck in the house sick while my friends are outside playing. I should stop reading them, but I'm stubborn and not ready to give up yet.

You seemed to have missed Bootsie's "NastyLF", but i don't know if it's just the same code as BootsiEQ, but just for low frequencies. Anyone have an idea?

BTW these plugins are all that and a bag of potatochips! I've been getting a lot of love from them in the short time i've been trying them out. Quality stuff, thanks a lot Bootsie!

No, the filtering in NastyLF is entirely different.
