have you tried the beta?

I wonder how well it will work with somthing like microtoniq

No NI are saying around NAMM. I am perhaps getting a bit carried away.

I'm optimistic that it will be well integrated. Maschine is first and foremost a drum machine and the creative scope of being able to load drum vsts is blowing my tiny mind. :-o

I hope full midi control will be implemented, i hate programming attack with a mouse. On the other side it will be great to be able to load these plugins in and process, sample and create new kits and loops.

Anyone else getting a false disabled plugins message when reopening a saved set that contains Microtonic 3 VST in Live 8.2.1?

This only happens with the VST, not the AU. And only Microtonic 3, the previous version was fine & did not trigger the message.

u-he Zebralette does this too, just the VST, not the AU.

when it comes to should & shouldn'ts I think you should always give the developer name with instrument name :D Communications 101!

but yes era vst works, era drum machine/synth/sequencer not so good

I am unable to get Logic 9 to see the AU version of µ3. It is installed in the right folder, yet does not show up. Any ideas?

Thanks!

It's working OK here. If you are using Logic 9 in x64 mode you will need to set it to x32 mode to validate 32-bit plugins, which includes uTonic 3.

To set Logic for 32-bit mode right click the Logic app and select "Get Info". There is a check box for 32-bit mode. Set this, start Logic. uTonic should be available. Quit Logic, then reset the check box to run in x64 mode.

Peace,
Andy.

What are the scripts used for in Microtonic?

I can't find anything about it, eg. API or examples.

I'm curious too...

I cant imagine being 'disappointed' at the update. Its great, and its free, and they have a huge userbase there that they cant forget. But I am I guessed confused about 'Bitspeak' and what that development implies.
I cant imagine that it made more sense to develop that than it does to add sync to Synplant.
Its just an observation, but from my pov, SC stands to gain more fans from a simple sync on Synplant that Bitspeak could ever deliver.

MicroT will continue to dominate with this update, but Im really hoping SC wont forget its other bits of genius.
Patternarium is still the coolest evar... :)

Synplant needs a few things, imo, sync among them. Hopefully, that's next on the list to get some Magnus love. :)
Either way, i'm plenty happy with the microtonic update. it's free, and it does bring some cool stuff to the table. Bitspeek...i'm just not really interested in one way or the other, though. I'll probably eventually buy it anyway, just for the sake of supporting a company i happen to like a lot!

they stated they are working or at least "not forgetting" synplant.

as for bitspeek what makes you think they spent any time developing it since synplant was released ?
maybe 15 mins in photoshop to slap a marketable gui on code they've had for years. same effect they used for the "please buy microtonic" voice from the demo. I lost track of the amount of times over the years people said "kool voice" or "kool effect" or something along those lines. I sincerely doubt they "mis-spent" development time on bitspeek that would have been better spent on synplant.

well i bought bitspeek
it's awesome
i like vocoders
and I long for a synplant update of any kind: baby step or giant leap!

i don't understand the moaning :?

Post

it probably won't take long before you hear Bitspeek in some chart tune.
that would be the best ad for the company one can imagine.

it really isnt...
my first and last sentence were pretty upbeat id say. i am very much "Pro-SC".

i dunno, logic? ;)
im not saying they poured every resource into it, im not saying they 'forgot' Synplant.
im saying that a sync on Synplant is not an outrageously huge task, and wouldve put them back in more ears this month that Bitspeak will.
imo, of course.. ;)

synplant will obviously benefit from conceptually simple updates. i await them eagerly!

but bitspeek in no way impedes on that progress. in any way shape or form. not even a tiny bit. and that is a fact.

and as for the moaning yours is just one small voice in a chorus of moaning  so don't feel singled out by my comment. Just take a step back and look. sonic charge release a stable, free update and a super simple inexpensive vocoder type effect. the result ? moaning. Pretty much inexcusable imo :)

ps: where's the logic ?
