I'm saying if I run a mono mix to my mixer or use 2 channels on my mixer would it be very noticeable?

Your criteria aren't mutually exclusive. You can use 2 channels on your mixer and still have a mono mix. (Or anywhere in between, by using the pan controls.)

People have two ears, and buy stereos and stereo PAs for a reason.

Now if you want to debate the merits of 5.1 I'm right there with you. But if you're asking, "why stereo?", the answer is, "without it it won't be stereo".

Well when we had the Leslie mic'ed up we used a single SM57 on the top and a single on the bass rotor not much was said about this setup.. plus I had to give up a mic for it so I was not able to do much for testing since one was geared more for vocals.

Even if mono, you should always use two mics on top. Otherwise the volume modulates far too much. (Only one of those horns actually has sound coming out of it. The other is a dummy counterbalance that's plugged.)

Yeah I told them about that I was going to buy another mic to place on the other side but I ended up doing something else.

I will never forget the first day after I re calibrated the TWG someone put the mic so close it sounded like a chopper taking off and the modulation was so bad.

It would be sweet to find some clip on mic holders

So anyways I will try the stereo mix, he event is not until 90 days from now so I have plenty of time to test and get things ready.

I definitely prefer the sound with the diffusers left on. Some people take them off in a vain attempt to get more volume. (I remove the back panels for this and face it back towards audience. At least that way it's not permanent.)

Yeah I regret having them clipped now, one day I will get around to buying some replacement horns.
