Only if you're into New Age. A rumor says that all major New Age labels have a permanent storage locker in the Giza pyramids for their pan flutes. A great tips is to let the cables overnight in a drawer of women's underwear. Then Very Sexy Music!

Still haven't figured out what Trap artists do with their cables. Any ideas?

Actually the problem is Reason and its add on products don't sell. Looking at their financial statements, Propellerheads lost 0.5 million dollars in 2011 and lost 2.2 million dollars in 2012.

How much longer can they can continue to operate while losing money? If things don't turn around, I suspect they will be acquired by one of the bigger players in 2-3 years.

Propellerhead Software AB

                    2012-12 2011-12 2010-12 2009-12
Net Income TKR (14,511) (3,450) 3,311 2,246
Net Income USD (2,212,928) (526,125) 504,928 342,515
Open the above link in Chrome to translate the statement into your language of choice. I am looking at the Net Income (Årets resultat) line which is stated in TKR (thousands of SEK). I translated the numbers into USD at today's exchange rate. USD = TKR * 1000 * 0.1525.

(Using today's SEK to USD exchange rate is not technically correct but since the rate has been pretty stable it doesn't really matter for the purposes of this discussion.)

I have a really hard time believing that they could be in the hole 2.2 mill. That just doesn't make any sense.

Welcome to corporate reality.

However, it's possible they still have money in the bank or other ways to finance their liquidity, but it DOES mean that they are not making money.
CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin, Moved to Reason and Rack Extensions exclusively (from Reaper and VSTs) several years ago.

They still have a positive net worth (assets) but it's shrinking since they lost money two years in a row. Sales are down a little and expenses have gone way up since they hired 10 new employees in the last two years. They really need Rack Extensions to take off to turn things around.

Many "Reason Only" users they now have the opportunity to "Taste" VSTs in the form of RE.
I'm pretty sure that after experiencing that kind of sound palette and quality, some ( majority?) of them just jump ship to the nearest VST vast land of choices? After all, RE are forever property of PH no matter how you look at it.
Buy>Use>or leave it behind in the PH hyperspace.

I wouldn't automatically take those numbers for Props as literal losses.

That is to say, you really need more information than that. For all we know they may have made a large investment during the fiscal year for tax purposes, which resulted in their final statement looking that way, e.g., doing something they were going to do anyway but avoiding a tax bill at the same time.

It could be actual losses, but we don't know that for sure just by that meager data. The way corporations move money around can be pretty creative.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with that hardware dealy they started (that nobody talks about)

And @RE's, I wonder how that structure works. I'd think that would not be part of the problem, but I don't know for sure.

one aspect is why i should switch to reason when i can't use my lovely vst plugins?

i tried out a few daw in my life but i'm not that mad to leave all my vst behind.
the whole concept is years old and with the progression of vst in the last years i think they have a problem. RE is good for reason users but not for people who have several plugins bought and need them (i count most people here to that group).
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
