DUNE 2 is wavetable based not sample based like the Wavestation so it can't do the same type of sounds but it can do killer evolving pads. I don't want to say any more I just wanted to clarify......

Guys ,Rich has asked the testers not to talk about DUNE 2. Let's respect his wishes...........
Oh I see. I just felt my eyes popped up a little when imagining it to have Wavestation's design/way about wavesequences :o So, it might be like NI Massive then ;-)
Ok, let's wait and see then :-)
Anyway, like Dune 1 and Antidote, sure it will be a hit especially with a good pricing.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

i disagree, you can already do some wavesequencing with Dune and with Dune2 it's spectacular !!!
i can't talk too much only tease a little bit ;-)
but the sound i heard with the last beta is on par with the wavestation
i own the korg wavestation vsti, so i can compare both synth
furthermore according to http://www.vintagesynth.com/korg/wavestation.php the ROM was only 4 Mb !
it was 24 years ago, today Dune1 wavetable is 5.6 Mo for 69 waveforms, imagine what have been done for Dune2 !!!

That's interesting and good. But it's also a bit odd to know there are still bugs in v1 after several years on the market...

Must be minor ones, I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary

How does one accomplish this with dune 1 and is it possible to say the size of dune 2?

With all those zillions of oscillators it must be great for pads and stuff like that, but is it also good at classic synth sounds using just one or two oscillators? You know, Minimoog-style synth basses etc.? Or does it sound thin on those?

I think Dune 1 was pretty phat for mono type basses as is, probably one of the phatest or thickest ones I've heard :hihi: Could Dune 2 possibly expand on this, as of now I'm hoping for at most maybe punchier envelopes or ability to create some nice flowing lush pads. I'm pretty happy with the bass and lead capability in Dune 1 and hard to imagine them getting too much better :o

Chris seriously.....I own Korg's Wavestation plugin too and it's a totally different synth. Wave tables versus multisamples.....apples and oranges. There is a huge difference between a series of short waveforms that make up a wavetable and a set of multisamples.........size is not relevant here.

And no you can't "tease" either....best to say nothing...........NDA..........

I think he was mostly refering to wave sequencing and I'm not sure what that is at this point except maybe 'modulating' between different waveforms? At this point I'm getting a little confused though, is it like a wavestation or isn't it :wheee:

No, it's not a Wavestation. This is why we're not supposed to talk about DUNE2....so people don't get confused. Wait for the demo....it will be worth the wait, that I can promise..........

I was mostly joking, just thought it was a little funny you two going back and forth like that. I get what both of you were trying say. Just thought it was funny but why'd you quote without the funny little guy running around in circles

ok, i won't say anything about Dune2 feature
where do you see multisample in a wavestation ?
are you confusing with wusikstation ?

I would have been very surprised if Dune 2 was like the Wavestation.

it is not like a wavestation
but it can sound like a wavestation, a virus or a minimoog in the hand of great sound designer
