Fabfilter Pro-Q 2!

I don't think that Pro-Q2 will replace DMG Audio in my productions but the features are of course very nice (Spectrum Grab, Auto Gain...). Hmmm.... I don't know if Pro Q needs a dynamic EQ mode?

There's no story. You just made a massive brainfart there. Everyone would've been happy if you didn't. But you did. Everyone's trying to forget it now and pass on. So, yes, back on topic and please refrain from dissing Fabfilter from now on, as you've been caught out:Compyfox wrote:And I did. People still didn't like it.toothnclaw wrote:We just asked you to explain the comment, ...
End of story.

Are you serious?! And that from another low-post count user that hides behind an alias without a face.
KVR is in a worse condition than I thought.
Way to go how to derail a thread yourself.
Good job, people.

Online veterans know all about "Godwin's Law":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law
The idea is that if any online debate continues long enough someone will make a reference to the Nazis. That person is then deemed to have instantly lost the argument and the debate is over.
I think music threads should have the same sort of law: As soon as anyone claims that the item under discussion is not "pro" then their point is deemed to be wrong and the debate ends. We just need a name for the law and more definite parameters...

That's what I think when I read some of your comments. Takes a lot of restraint not to go down the offensive route. Maybe you should try that too.Compyfox wrote:Not worth it anymore - maybe the mods will have fun with this.

What about the. Compyfox law, when someone claims an "engineer" friend claims xxxxxxxxxx and then distances themselves from the comment claiming they didn't say it originally so what's the problem.spirit wrote:Online veterans know all about "Godwin's Law":

Here's the Godwin law and Compyfox law together, an engineer friend says that " quote Nazi propaganda".
Compyfox defence, I didnt say it !!! Someone else did, what's your problem.
Compyfox , see how ludicrous your stance is here.

I'm going to have to bring you up on that.deft_bonz wrote:Now that post sounds totally different.
I can't remember DMG adding big amount of feature within version 1... just some food for yous thoughts![]()
Yes, FF did the step up. Well spotted![]()
Yes, FF was years (2009) before DMG (2013) with an EQ. Well spotted too![]()
Does it matter? Nah...![]()
But for sure both are way better then the Behringer Eurodesk EQ
Equality was already developed in 2009, and I personally had conversations via Dave's development blog about it in Jan 2010 and bought the EQ later that year.
Both FF and DMG tools are fantastic and the only reason I don't use Fabfilter myself is because there is little point in using both. Whichever one you pick, you are likely to stay with that company due to familiarity with interface conventions and loyalty discounts etc.
Equick took plenty of inspiration from user requests; users of both EQuality, other EQs and of course, especially Pro-Q. Fabfilter have responded and look to have made a fine tool that clearly pays more than a passing nod to many of EQuilibriums UI innovations.
As others, I won't be getting Pro-Q because EQuilibrium does eveything I need and then some.
Neither tool would represent a bad choice for anyone wanting a fully featured and top notch EQ.
Cheers

p.s. I also saw Compyfox's website ages ago after other comments off his rubbed me up the wrong way and his lack of pro equipment does appear to make his comments to be somewhat incongruous. I was also tempted to call him Behringer boy but resisted the urge until now when it appears to have been done for me haha!
I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored...

Of course, and I totally agree.BDeep wrote:mellotronaut wrote:some stupid chaps here: it's mainly the skills, not the equipment, that makes music special.
I think some of us wanted to point out that someone who is dissing great tools for not being "Pro" enough whilst using Behringer speakers and mixers, deserves it if someone else then decides to bring them up on it.
Particularly when there doesn't appear to be any evidence of much output or special music being made either.

There might be some people (like Compyfox) who are better in mixing/mastering the music of other people and less in producing music themselves...djscorb wrote:Of course, and I totally agree.BDeep wrote:mellotronaut wrote:some stupid chaps here: it's mainly the skills, not the equipment, that makes music special.
