I think it is the best vocal synth and the current voice sound good too . but how hard it is to get other voice. I like a bright voice for rock songs even more. hear this please. how it is possible to get such a voice ?.

The problem is that we aren't talking about Netflix, here. If the internet on either end goes down and people have to wait a couple of hours to watch a film, there really is nothing lost. However, that's a world away from someone who is working on a critical, time-sensitive project; not to mention those who want to work in environments that are not 'connected', either through choice or otherwise. To my mind, it's a non-workable proposition, and something I'd never even consider.rodyy wrote: Fri Apr 12, 2019 5:55 amWe chose this cloud-based solution because we want to give our users instant access to dozens of voices, each of which weighs many, many Gb. Create a song, then try it with 10 different voices. Or switch to a big, custom vocal ensemble to see how it sounds.
You'll have nothing worth protecting if you prioritise protection over customer utilityrodyy wrote: Fri Apr 12, 2019 5:55 amOn our side, it prevents piracy which will help us offer our tech at a reasonable cost.

I am liking Emvoice so far although I haven't dug in too deeply. I am worried the business decision to do this via cloud is going to be the business' achiles heal. Its just not how we work. It's almost like the business didn't do objective customer market research and is trying that thing where they just try and shove an idea through. I think its going to end up in a sad state of affairs. But, I'm in if the price makes sense. The price needs to account for all the down-time and wait-time users are going to have. The risk is with pro users who are going to do a quick risk analysis and probably walk away. Hopefully I am wrong.

Regarding wait time, we're constantly improving our infrastructure. The new beta (arriving today) is way faster than the previous version. And for downtime, We’re at 0.004% over the last 60 days. So even if you're an obsessive userplexuss wrote: Fri Apr 12, 2019 6:27 pm The price needs to account for all the down-time and wait-time users are going to have. Agreed, and we haven’t fully settled on a business model. Thank you for your feedback.plexuss wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 10:40 pm It seems weird to go cloud based but sell it as stand-alone.

It has nothing to do with being "obsessive". It's about timing. You might have had no issues in two months, but then suddenly have a couple of days worth of issues in month ten; and if those days happen to fall at a moment that the end-user needs to do edits torodyy wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 5:18 am And for downtime, We’re at 0.004% over the last 60 days. So even if you're an obsessive userof Emvoice you're unlikely to ever experience any downtime. And these days when I experience a loss of internet connexion, that’s because of a power outage - which is obviously going to interrupt my session anyway.
a project then that's a huge inconvenience.
You are also only considering issues at your end. I have had two day-long internet outages in the last eighteen months. Such occurrences wouldn't be your fault, of course, but it doesn't change the fact that, in such a scenario, yours would have been the only software I wouldn't have been able to use.
Before the Ilok-alypse happened a few years back, I'm sure downtime statistics were extremely favourable. Then suddenly studios found they had no access to their plugins. If it weren't for the fact that big studios are built on plugins that are protected in this manner, I doubt Pace would have survived. How many outages (on either end) do you guess it would take before people decided it just wasn't worth continuing with your product?

Anything cloud based I wouldn‘t even consider to demo... I am used to work in places without or with extremely slow connections, but even with a good connection I would not. Its in principle bad to be dependent on a companies infrastructure. Old plug-ins who‘s company died long ago still work! Even if I need to run them in a VM because they don‘t know the newest hyped OS version... (some devs kill that advantage by demanding an internet connection for the copy protection...)

That's entirely possible, actually our next female voice won't be too far from that. But right now we're recording a new male voice. Also working on some synthetic / vocoder type voices.magicmusic wrote: Fri Apr 12, 2019 6:18 pm I think it is the best vocal synth and the current voice sound good too . but how hard it is to get other voice. Update for Mac users: unfortunately Emvoice One does not work with most Sierra systems. It looks like only the early versions of 10.12 are compatible. We just realized it yesterday, apologies for that. We don’t plan to fix this compatibility issue, and recommend High Sierra at least. Apple can be hard to follow sometimes, especially for small developers...

Ah. I'm out for now. Running Sierra. I really don't like updating, again, because Apple sucks and breaks things all the time. Audio on Macs is ridiculous these days. Core audio sucks. But if you are using Apple it's all that's available. Have to roll with the punches... Good Luck

Totally agreed, as a user I feel locked in Apple's ecosystem and their hardware is ridiculous too - particularly the Macbook pro line, basically they're Macbook Air but with a Pro price tag. Steve Jobs would never have let that happenplexuss wrote: Fri May 03, 2019 1:26 am Ah. I'm out for now. Running Sierra. Off topic: I disagree. Steve Jobs invented the corporate tyrrany that is now Apple culture. He is the king of non-customer centric profit generation. Don't be fooled by a pretty face and smart talk. The guy was a snake.rodyy wrote: Fri May 03, 2019 2:00 amTotally agreed, as a user I feel locked in Apple's ecosystem and their hardware is ridiculous too - particularly the Macbook pro line, basically they're Macbook Air but with a Pro price tag. Hi all,
Is this not available for Pro tools? It doesn't mention Pro tools in the readme file when mentioning what DAWs are supported.
Thanks.

Not yet, we'll release the AAX version as soon as possible. There is a workaround with Vienna Ensemble on PC, and with Blue Cat's Patchwork on Mac. But no guarantee it's reliable...cybercreature wrote: Fri May 03, 2019 9:22 pm Hi all,

Great, I can't wait for that! Thanks I will look into that workaround.
