Gives me great pleasure to pay homage to a an old friend and great synth: Thor from Propellerhead. I really had fun doing this.

Hi everyone!

I decided to use Synth1 this time as it is not CPU hungry, I have used it in the past and it has very good potential. Probably I could make a whole album with it. You can create a very broad range of sounds that will fit to nearly every genre of electronic music. And ofcourse it is completely free and there is a thusands of presets available.

This month I began too many projects that wasn't possible to finish for some reasons. I've made this entry on the last weekend, assuming that I simply cannot bypass this round. I've pulled out some of my dusty experiments from a very early noodlings and made a heap out of them. All presets created from "Initial sound". I've used those thusands of presets to have an idea what this synth could do and how it's components works (those days I didn't knew much about synths compared to nowdays).

So I still think that "Any Synth Challenge" is good idea and perhaps we could have it more often (once or twice a year may be).

Good luck people and happy anniversary!

Right, here's mine!

https://soundcloud.com/cs_tbl/cs-tbl-th ... -whale-fm8

It's 29 instances of FM8, and nothing else. No mixing/mastering, no external effects. All sounds by me, built-up from zero, all effects are from FM8 itself. Pretty much like how it's on my youtube-channel.
DAW: Cubase

Have fun listening/rating! :-)

Been quite some time since I've given this a go. Decided to go with Harmor and have a big ol' additive tangent. All patches are hand rolled and no imported waveforms or samples have been used (just a bunch o' sine waves). Anyway I've been awake for too long at this point and need to get some rest, I'll do the full instance and FX count tomorrow when I wake up, for now enjoy.

List goes here:

Yessir! It's my first go at Dune since the update to 3 which is why I picked it - it's a shame I had to stay away from wavetables, but still SOOO nice (easy!) to work with.... especially compared to some of the OSC synths! Having such a good preset bank is also super nice for ppl. like me since I'm less of a synth-head, but just mostly like making music. I used a bunch of them - a few almost totally untweaked!

Happy Birthday OSC! Glad I made it.

I had a very very stressful month and wished i could've taken more time to polish my song. Chose Synthmaster because I had it for a while now and never really looked into it that much. It's a really capable softsynth.

Initially I wanted to make a song with a trip-hoppy vibe but ended up going more into an ambient direction.

Happy 10th Birthday

My track:
https://soundcloud.com/zarf/zarf-funky-birthday

I used Madrona Labs Aalto - I picked it up years ago and never found the time to learn it, so this was a great opportunity. Just scratched the surface with the time I had available!

Abe EQ 8 on every track
About 12 Ableton compressors (mix of glue and standard)
A few Ableton delays and reverbs here and there
Midi Pitch (for part transposition)

Good luck everyone :D

Phew, I made it! Another late one...
I had an absolute blast with full-fat Zebra (even though I used HZ I don't think I used any non Zebra 2 features in the end). Note that I barely used any effect this time since the ones built into Zebra are ace!
I actually spent quite a bit of this month studying some music theory since that was the weakest aspect from last month. Shout out to everyone on the OSC Slack! Thanks for your feedback, and special thanks to Taron for giving me a nudge in the right direction :D

Made for KVR OSC #121 ZebraHZ (for the 10 year anniversary Any One Synth)
