If they're a big company, they're doing very well with most of their products. :)

Especially in a business where there's not too much money to be made.

It does seem a bit odd that people sing the praises of Monark all the time, which is even simpler than this, and yet put the boot into something they've barely heard.

For a soft synth to be "authentic" does it have to be a direct emulation?

- You lack of innovation! I saw something similar thousand times!
- Hey we have this new synth with experimental engine and synthesis technology!
- It's too complex give me something easy to work with!
- Hey we have this simple synth with some new/unusual synthesis technology!
- I need to use Reaktor which means 3 more mouse click I can't be bothered with such amount of tasks to do!!!!!!!!
- But you can use it in Komplete Kontrol/[other alternative method]
- Idc! I don't want to use simpler way I just don't want to use your product at all!

- How you dare to offer me this synth that I don't want!!!!!!!! :x :x :x :x :x

U-he releases a simple one page synth that does absolutely nothing new in terms of synth evolution (hive) and we lap it up, NI does the same thing and the haterade starts flowing. Human nature.
I understand your point, but I can't see this as a good comparison. Hive doesn't need Reaktor to work. One can launch Hive in a blink of an eye.
You can launch a Reaktor ensemble in 2 blinks of an eye, which is admittedly longer, yet still not something that I would get my panties in a bunch over.

I have a mild dislike for NI using Reaktor for all their synths too, but only because I tend to forget that they are there, not because its an enormous burden on the act of making music, it’s like one extra frigging mouse click.

How very scientific of you. Meanwhile, continue in your fight to censor all contrary opinion.

Yes! The guy who keeps moaning about the moaners literally states feeling superior to the moaners themselves :tu:
chk071 wrote: Fri May 03, 2019 2:25 pmAnyway. It's not that i'm super enthusiastic about this either.
But NI are such a successful company :o :o

Judging from the marketing, it's being positioned as a reasonably priced, NKS-compatible analog-sounding polysynth for burgeoning producers. Seems like a perfectly reasonable product.

I own that M32 controller, 'cause I love the footprint of a 32-key and it's got decent (not perfect, for sure) Live integration. It's also very competitively priced. It's not going to replace your 88 key like this won't replace Diva, etc., but not sure why that's problematic.

For around $200, the combination of Super-8 and that controller gives you a reasonable facsimile of a knobby hardware synth (not obvious but that controller even has a small alpha-numeric display). Built in Reaktor means decent sound already coded so NI got it to market quickly. Not too shabby.

I've hardly read a word saying NI is wrong... just personal opinions about a synth and Reaktor. My opinion may well be a tiny minority... it is still my opinion and I will base my buying decisions on it.

I don't get it Lol. I actually like having so many synths that run on one platform. Instead of a different VST for all the different ensembles...Not like they make you Buy Reaktor for it I mean. Its like a Kontakt for Synths...

Thats just me however. Apparently MANY people don't feel this way.

Also I agree on the Hipster thing.
Hense why Programs like Bitwig are just so Popular on here.
Kidding Kidding Don't Ban me Pls

Revisionism... Lots of people complained about Hive initially...

The more I read this thread, and the more I reflect on KVR in general, it seems that for certain people, other people are not allowed to have their opinions if they are contradictory to those same certain people's.

As Spock would say, fascinating, but totally illogical.

There is another rule that can explain that success.
Companies that are the FIRST (and succesfull) in a certain business, tend to stay very succesfull for a long time (customer loyality or too lazy to change).
These companies really have to f**k it up to lose the loyalty of their customers.

That's a new one on me, is there a common name for that rule?
