Ah, you mean the Arturia OB-Xp, then. I assumed you meant their SEM since that is closer to the OB-E of this thread. As for the detune / offset control, though, your'e right about that. You need to go to each page to get a deeper offset.Vortifex wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 11:13 pmArturia doesn't have an extra page for it, it's right there on the front panel. But yeah, I know I'm sort of covered. It was just an 'in an ideal world' thought. The Detune knob on OB-E doesn't go far enough to be very useful. The range is much smaller than the Pitch control on the OP-Xa V or the Spread on the OB-Xd. I wonder if they kept it subtle to not entirely negate the existence of all the SEMs. As it is you still need to go to each SEM to get a big wide detune, unless I'm missing something.mholloway wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 9:11 pm Scratching my head how this is 'too clunky and unwieldy' for you. One click, one knob voice offset, panning identical to one of the synths you mentioned.... you're covered here, in my estimation.

Except it doesn't do a very good job. It's way too subtle to be useful.mholloway wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 9:11 pmYou have a 'vintage' knob that offsets all voices with a single turn of the knob..

Anyone experiencing stuck notes since updating to Gforce SEM 1.5.0 and OB-E 2.5.0 updates (macOS)?
SEM 1.5.0 and OB-E 2.5.0 introduce a problem of stuck notes after a while in Ableton (latest version). Never had an issue with stuck notes in them both before the update in previous version.
Stuck notes after a while on a Midi clip in the project (I have to turn the volume to 0 in muted parts of the project to bypass the issue, very annoying).
No stuck notes issue with MiniMonsta 2 though. So I suspect it's a Gforce issue with SEM and OB-E only on Macs.
Using Mac M1, macOS Ventura and latest Ableton.

Something is not right, and I believe it’s fixable by the devs.
Maybe there's a DPI scaling issue or something else going on causing yours to look different than mine. Or maybe we just have different ideas about what blurry is.![]()
There might be better sharpness at some particular zoom values (and GForce could provide a menu with those values), but SEM is good at any scale. I'd prefer OB-E going the SEM route in this regard.
So blurry. It's even hard to find the 'zoom' buttons So beautiful

That OB-E screen print is incredibly blurry. Like a blurry filter was applied to it. It's not like that here. What DPI scaling are you running Windows? I'm at 100%.Dencheg wrote: Sat Mar 11, 2023 5:07 pmFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Feb 22, 2023 7:37 pmCan you post a screen print? I'm curious if you're seeing what I am. But now the question is: will GForce make OB-E look as SEM in other (much more comfortable than 100%) scales, like 125%?
OB-E team should hire people from SEM team

Maybe there's a language barrier here but I'm not really following what you're saying. Your screen print of OB-E in Reaper looks way blurrier than mine also running Reaper.Dencheg wrote: Sat Mar 11, 2023 7:02 pm

Here's what OB-E looks like on my screen. It's nowhere near as blurry as yours. I have no idea why yours is like that. So either 1) maybe you're running your operating system at some DPI scaling that is not 100% and maybe their GUI doesn't like that, or 2) maybe you're on an older version (check for updates), or 3) maybe there's some weird bug.
The fonts are small, sure, but there's no blurriness like on your screen print.

Sorry for confusing, I was just saying that your guess about Windows UI scale was correct (and finally answered why it's no good for me while fine for many others).
I confirmed that at 100% OB-E looks totally fine, but I'm not willing to switch the scale, as I'm used to it, and SEM seems to handle all scales correctly.
I asked GForce support to check if OB-E could be made behaving like SEM in this regard.

I love both the OB-E and the SEM, however I find the presets to be extremely hard to use, since they're so "over-the-top". It seems it's getting pretty much ignored by 3rd party sound designers, or are there any?

Still, it's an interesting observation and possibly critical for the success of an instrument. Whilst I don't keep track of such things, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest from people who make and sell banks of patches, does there? And OB-E is a real punish to patch.
