Why is FL Studio so popular?

Daw has nothing to do with that. Its people who make that music. FL is popular in general and its easy to pirate (not since 20.9). Its very accessible and hands on to use especialy when working with MIDI. It doesnt need any dongles to use. GUI ane layout is intuitive. Patterns can be used as drum machine patterns so its easy to write drum lines. Its semi modular. Because of how popular program there are tons of tutorials.Dasheesh wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 9:16 pm If you don't want the answer, don't ask the question. I answered your question. I'm not selling you anything, I'm not trying to influence you, and I'm not taking my shirt off. People use fruity-loops cuz it's dead ass easy to pump edm all day long without any taste, class, or history. That's why.
That you only see people making music you dont like its your negative bias problem. Change the way you think and you will see the positive.

why do you keep trolling the thread, we get it you dont like FL so kindly move on.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

well Hink. The way I see it I'm the only one being honest. I realize you guys are trying to hock things over here tho. I just stopped by because I saw there was a pigments update, and wanted to see if folks were having problems with it before I installed. I respect you tho, so I'll move on. It's going to get real boring around here.

'Honest', being the new term for absurd personal value judgements without any evidence. Interesting.

They can't help it and are unable to move on, because FL Studio is so damn important and ever-present to the industry. Because, if it wasn't such a dominant DAW, these trolls would never even give it the time of day, just like they don't bother trolling or even barely mentioning the majority of all the lesser-known DAWs that are (or were) available.
But unfortunately (for those haters) it most definitely does and will continue to thrive, and so they become obsessed with repeatedly disparaging something that they never personally use, simply because it happens to live rent free 24/7 in their heads. Now how dumb and extremely sad is that?
The "trolling" aspect is clearly fuelled by pure envy and jealousy. Envy over the sheer amount of attention FL Studio receives online and in popular culture generally, as compared to their own preferred DAW of choice.
And jealousy that, given all of the extra attention FL Studio currently gets (even with its so-claimed 'less professional' features and workflow), there is an ever-present reality that should FLS continue to improve its current feature sets and workflow operations closer towards those of rival DAWs, that those already less-popular DAWs' current userbase, will dwindle down even further into possible oblivion, with a mass exodus of users over towards the already-dominant (Lifetime Free Updates) FL Studio.
Think about it. Once there is a far more closer features and workflow parity between the DAWs, which one is more likely to continue to thrive and survive? The ones which continuously 'milk' their existing customers to pay for updates either annually, or for all the important/major updates, or the DAW which simply requests a (very reasonably-priced) 'one-off' payment and then you're all golden?
It's no contest!
So these trolls who like always to disparage FL Studio, had better hope and pray that Image-Line never actually manage to achieve such product/feature parity, or their now beloved niche rival DAW may eventually go the way of the dodo. Then these trolls may find even themselves 'having' to switch over to 'Fruity Loops' themselves. Now wouldn't that be karma?

I hear these kinds of comments and don't know what to make of them. I know about a dozen people using a DAW and most use Ableton Live, a couple use Ardour and Garageband and one Cubase. Not one uses FL Studio. I talk to a lot of people and in the last 10 years, I don't recall a single person who when talking about music software, mentioned FL Studio.MrJubbly wrote: Sun Dec 19, 2021 2:37 pmEnvy over the sheer amount of attention FL Studio receives online and in popular culture generally, as compared to their own preferred DAW of choice.
And again, as I have mentioned previously, looking at the marketing of various midi controllers and hardware that has some sort of DAW integration, they all mention Live and almost none mention FL Studio.
My conclusion is that FL Studio is not as popular as some people claim it is. I also note that Image-Line recently stopped selling their instruments as VST's. That does not speak to me of a company that is flourishing. But who knows.
My favorite DAW is Bitwig and it is totally niche and I'm fine with it being so. As long as it has enough users to stay comfortably in business, I'm happy. As for the big boys duking it out, I would say Live is the top dog and that Ableton doesn't even think about FL Studio as an important competitor.

Note: Some don't use FL Studio anymore but certainly made hits with it.

I need to check a simple videorecording software, i recently used ableton and bitwig and anyone who uses piano rolls should immediately see and feel how unintuitive the piano rolls are outside of fl studio. What i cannot understand. I dont think it is hard to improve it in other daws....
