Actually, I think I'm the opposite. I empathise far too much with everybody. I see how people allow themselves to be treated, and up to a point I completely understand it but then there's this element of the herd mentality that is involved that just isn't part of my makeup.

That post was not serious. I was often berated as a kid for not taken compliments well [for being too self-effacing] so I have learned to respond appropriately. But at the end of the day, having gogd things or bad things said about me has zero impact. My ego is completely self-sustaining and requires no external input.

Its a guaranteed 10 page thread if you do. But seriously, it still amazes me how manyof you guys allow yourselves to be so affected by the opinions of others. When I get a bee in my bonnet over something, its usually because I am trying to understand a situation or phenomenon, e.g. why everybody doesn't see that ORION is clearly the best host, but if I bait you long enough and hard enough I eventually arrive at some form of understanding [although often its at the expense of my opinion of human kind].

Anyway, I only posted the last reply because I have noticed in other threads that quincy associates success with being in a relationship which is clearly ludicrous . But if anyone wishes to continue waxing philosophicl i am more than happy to take this to the Off-Topic forum over the weekend.

I think violence is very misunderstood. It is an inescapable part of our nature and I, for one, would rather it was out in the open and dealt with rather than repressed, Fred West style. I see no reason to deny your nature or attempt to change it. It is what it is.

And that is significant why? Because you want everyone to be just like you? Because you assume that everybody aspires to the same things you do? Do you think I should feel that there is something wrong with me because, in any given situation, I would prefer to be on my own than encumbered with others? Or because I see a place, or need even, for violence in our society? Or because I have little interest in feeling secure or safe?

It amazes me how strong the urge for you all to fit in and feel safe is. I have never understood it, certainly never felt it. As a kid/teenager I really didn't notice but as I got older it became clear that you're all quite fundamentally different and always have been. Clearly quincy, it has never occurred to you that we're not all the same, has it?

I'm afraid the only thing that's clear bones, is that you consistently misunderstand my posts, and even do shit like this, where you reply as if it was aimed at you. It wasn't, but it clearly hit a nerve with you. Uncomfortable with the violence that is/was in your life by any chance?

And of course everyone is different, you want a medal for pointing that out?! When did i say otherwise.

And you clearly have no grasp of what "repressed" means either. As an english speaker, let me explain.

Repressed refers to something that is perhaps bubbling under the surface, and wants to get out but is forced back down. Gievn that fred west murdered several people in a most brutal manner, i think it would be a bit of a push to call his violence "repressed" don't you? If he had wanted to kill but hadn't, then it would've been repressed.

Anything else i can help you with? Grammar? Spelling? Guilt about your "necessary" aggressive nature? Perhaps you just need a big hug....

strange.. normal discussion, both on subject in my opinion. I think bones does understand your posts quincy, just try to understand what he's writing, maybe his words have a different meening than the one formed in your mind. I see that often, normal posts -maybe slightly more creative in word use (if your nick is xoxos)- misunderstood because of the reflex-type/stereotype wiring in the brain

I agree with bones here.. we all have different needs and different reality tunnels, different norms and values, what looks important and obvious for one might not be obvious at all for an other
