You do know - the new ones don't have the version number, the old ones do.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 6:00 pmOk, way I'm reading that: there's no way to know which Wurli presets are from the older version and which are from the newer one? It's just kind of trial and error and guessing based on what you hear? Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks for replying!noiseboyuk wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 4:56 pm There are both. Select Wurli, then set a field in Explore to show by Instrument. The new patches don't have a version number next to them, they just say Wurli

Thanks for sticking with me! It was the step about adding the "Instrument" column to the Explore tab that was tripping me up. I had it on designer and wasn't quite following at first. Seems like all but 3 of the Wurli patches are the new version. Which still sounds pretty darn bad to me. But that's not your fault. Both of your replies are much appreciated!

so what is the non discounted price? 300?SHall1000 wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 9:49 pmNot on initial release that price would have been a much later sale. Wait a year.grrrz wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 8:57 pm I'm pretty sure the discounted offer for the V8 to V9 was 100; why is this one 200? not really interested, maybe at 100 for the minifreak.

basically if you bought any arturia V collection version you will get updates on all of your instruments as long as they are maintained. When arturia release a "new version" of a plugin (like mini V4; or last time prophet V); it's basically treated as a different plugin and you keep the previous version which still might be updated. When you buy V collection update you simply buy the plugins that were'nt there; including the updated pluginsgeiger167 wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 12:57 pmWurli and Mini V4 are not updated unless you pay £49 each for item, they remain the old versions unless you upgrade individually or upgrade to V collection XAtlatnesiti wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 9:58 am FYI; For Arturia V 9 users…
All V9 versions of existing plugins are updated to V10 versions including Arturia download centre.

they are considered different plugins, not updates. the old plugin might still be updated, at least for OS compatibilitygeiger167 wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 12:57 pmWurli and Mini V4 are not updated unless you pay £49 each for item, they remain the old versions unless you upgrade individually or upgrade to V collection XAtlatnesiti wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 9:58 am FYI; For Arturia V 9 users…

lol is ?briefcasemanx wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 2:49 am Sorry, my statement was meant for people that have ears and can see the forest for the trees.
It's increasingly apparent that this particular forum attracts a lot of people that lack in both these areas. Make sure to reply arguing about technical specs though, to prove my point.

I agree that the minimoog is pretty boring. Still I get why people might like the moog sound; but you can also get it with moog's latest plugin that has a bit more depth than the minimoog. Also yes there are far more interesting stuff out there. Still complexity doesn't mean superior quality.Teksonik wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 5:46 pm If you are still (for whatever reason) impressed with something like a MiniMoog then by all means use one. They bore me to death. How many decades can a Moog bass hold one's interest especially considering we have so many other awesome synths literally at our fingertips these days.

I agree that u-he or softube can do at least slightly higher sound quality but the arturia versions are nothing to scoff at; specially the most recent updates. factor in the fact you can get a full package for 200 bucks and arturia stuff has usually improved possibilites over the og hardware; using only this can make sense. Also there are very few buchla emulation out there (and as you say the digital stuff is also found nowhere else; really love the synclavier for example). Also for the virtual modular I love the AAS CV-2 which is pretty underratedSeptic Underground wrote: Sat Dec 16, 2023 8:16 am I love the keys and organs in the Arturia Collection. The farfisa/pianos/solina/vox etc.
really a great selection of plugins.
Dont care too much on the poly-analog modelled ones (I prefer TAL / U-he / Softube / Gforce for those sounds) , but love the early semi-digital stuff like the SQ80/DX7/CZ/EMulator/Fairlight/Synclavier etc. I do use the Arturia OBXA a lot next to the Gforce version though.

I guess someone will have to start a V Collection 12 Predictions thread then since we're not allowed to talk about V Collection 11 predictions yet.

.. it would certainly be nice if the whole Augmented series was interchangeable and allowed not 2 but 4 layers ..
say - piano + voices + strings ... Arturia got to do it ...
