They did say they got a hold of a Tascam to test/debug. But refuse to get a Roland. Many thanks on letting me know that Steinberg works for you. I was hoping a few people here would tell me their Steinberg worked without issue, since Bitwig won't even repeat their name when I ask directly about them. I also need to check the headphone outputs on the different options as well.
Am also hoping others can report here what interfaces they're using.

I rather regret buying the Steinberg IXO 22! When I searched the net for reviews, there were excellent reviews most of the times, but the reality is I have two main problems with it. First, it can't support my DT 990 Pro (250 OHM) but it supports fine the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro (64 OHM). The second problem is my Yamaha monitors (HS7) have more noise with it than other audio interface. Also, the Yamaha MODX main outputs when plugged to the monitors are very noisy even if I put the synth 2 metres away! So that make me not so keen on Yamaha audio interfaces!BBFG# wrote: Wed Oct 09, 2024 2:26 pm They did say they got a hold of a Tascam to test/debug. But refuse to get a Roland. The Tascam is very good but I had a better noise level (less) with Presonus iTwo interface! iTwo also has no problem at all with any DAW! I really like it. My next audio interface would be Presonus or maybe Motu or Zoom (I heard good things about those.
Anyway, Tascam is very good all around and the built quality is excellent. Its driver doesn't have any problem with Mac or Linux! So, only the ASIO driver is shit. I noticed several companies (especially those who make hardware) are much better on Mac, so if I choose my Mac for music production and not Windows, I'm good to go with Tascam! Even on Windows, it is ok with Ableton Live, Reaper, S1 and Cubase. I'm using it mainly with AB Live now.
Good luck hunting a good audio interface for Windows/Bitwig combo
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I'm using a Behringher UMC404HD that I bought as a temporary solution while deciding what to buy. Works really well. I even bought it again after loosing my first one. The outputs sounds clean on my studio monitors even at high levels. Has balanced outputs, besides jack and rca. You can route outputs 3-4 to the headphone out. Don't know if it pairs well with high impedance headphones. My AKG K702 have 62 ohm impedance. Inputs are not the greatest but useable. Low latency and class compliant. Never had a problem in Bitwig using the proprietary Asio drivers. It even has midi in/out ports. Great value and solid.BBFG# wrote: Wed Oct 09, 2024 2:26 pm They did say they got a hold of a Tascam to test/debug. But refuse to get a Roland. You can assign different zoom shortcuts in: Settings/Shortcuts/Zooming section.bundoo wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2024 6:42 am Is there a simple way to change mouse wheel vert / horiz zoom?
annoying
I generally use my (Shift) -/+ on my keypad for horizontal/vertical zooming.

Thanks for the Interface suggestions.
I just ran across a deal I couldn't pass up on the Mackie Producer 2 x 2. Keeping my fingers crossed, but if anyone knows any negatives about it, please let me know as I haven't taken delivery yet.

This is my only issue with bitwig. it is what it is though. its very annoying especially as a logic convert where zooming is awesome. but not a dealbreaker for me.bundoo wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2024 6:42 am Is there a simple way to change mouse wheel vert / horiz zoom?

I had 5.2.4 completely crash (completely) on my this morning while tweaking a sound in Bazille (CLAP). I've never had a less stable Bigwig release.

I prefer AB Live now as the arrangement view shortcuts are much easier and more intuitive than Bitwig. Bitwig needs to make the workflow in the arrangement section better than now. There is no shortcuts for moving the playing line!! Navigation is in the arrangement is absolutely missing!
I don't need to assign anything in AB Live! Even Reaper has default shortcuts for the 'arranger' functions! It might be better in theory as it is fully customized but first I need to come up with dozens of shortcuts, then I need to memorize them! Not very inviting!
Also, Bitwig developers need to move their asses a little and find why they have problems with ASIO drivers of some brands! Go buy some audio interfaces and test!

Every DAW should let you customize the mouse and mouse wheel behavior. I get frustrated switching between programs and trying to remember which one uses ctrl+wheel to zoom vertically, to scroll horizontally, etc.
Just copy the Live shortcuts if you want to! And share a config file so everyone else can use them.

Bitwig doing a weird thing Cubase did for years which is not being able to quit properly. No matter how I try, at least 70% of the time I have to force quit through Task Manager. This started at around 5.2.3 iirc. Anyone else getting this?

Yes. And even after quitting under task manager, the audio engine doesn't. And this results in not being able to let any program recognize my interface until I reboot the whole system.swilow11 wrote: Fri Oct 18, 2024 10:04 pm Bitwig doing a weird thing Cubase did for years which is not being able to quit properly. Hmm, that's not good. I haven't noticed any sequelae like that but it's frustrating enough as it is. When did you notice this behaviour starting?BBFG# wrote: Fri Oct 18, 2024 10:39 pmYes. Tempted to just roll back to a stable version. Other issues I've noticed are persistent crashes when dragging stuff like wavetables into Current in particular- it's probably more the synth than anything (happens with Synthmaster 3 too though) but I never noticed it before this.
