Does Bitwig seem like a daw that very few people want? Kind of a rant I guess.

That reads like it was written during a midlife crisis and sounds exactly like someone who booted up Bitwig, got overwhelmed by all the possibilities, and then decided it was Bitwig’s fault for being confident about it.
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a fan of it personally. I've tried to unload it with no luck.

I think the manual is pretty good tbh, the options displayed in the footer for mouse over can be very helpful, and some of the built in documentation graphical pop ups are also so great.Tracewidth wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 12:27 pm Bitwig is *confident*. It confidently has the grid and modulation/container complexity, and it confidently has a terrible manual. It confidently establishes its aesthetic and symbology on the screen and its stock presets confidently sound awful (in the main). Etc.
Every second time I start it up I have a great time.![]()
I would say that sometimes it's not always immediately obvious how to do something, and there's a neat Bitwig way to do it by combining devices. But new devices have improver this.
I don't disagree about the presets, drum machine is pretty good, but I feel having more vanilla presets for some of the FX would really help. They could definitely do with increasing the amount of presets for synths and FX.
I think Bitwig is confident though. It has huge depth, but can also he used really simply. Win win.
If for any reason I don't have a great time when I open Bitwig, I'd have to say that is only down to me.
