Just keep it working for Sonar-4
. Each demo dll update/patch has seemed to improve and smooth out burps. Thanks for the hard work, and cant wait to see the final...

A good thing would be, you add the note number to the mapping page.

Well, that makes it impossible then to assign pitch numbers to keys in Jamstix, doesn't it.
Many thanks to the gents at Roland and Yamaha for not agreeing on something this basic
Never had a Roland synth in my life, so I didn't even know it. Guess I'm a Yamaha kinda guy

Yes, but most people don't think in pitch numbers...Anyway its about the note numbers,
they always go from 0-127.
So the note number is always correct.

Is the full release still on for March 28th? I have some drum tracks just itching for some Jamstix.
I'm going to prorder tomorrow.
Thanks, Riley

hi,
first off, i must say: very impressive product support.
i downloaded the latest demo and am very impressed. this thing is really fun!
however, i found a bug which crashes SONAR:
if you switch jamstix from external vsti back to internal without closing the sub-host window, and then exit SONAR, it crashes.
also, i can't seem to make the key control work.
and what are the little keyboard icon/buttons next to the key control dropdowns for? are they supposed to perform the key control in the absence of an external controller?
[edit: never mind about what they do...i loaded jamstix into energyXT and suddenly i can read the tool tips...which explain the buttons...but i'm still not getting the key control to work. btw: i'm hoping the tool tips will work in SONAR eventually.]
[edit: another thing i noticed is that setting the Key in the Mapping page only seems to work on MIDI channel 1. it would be nice to get this to work on other MIDI channels, particularly channel 10, so i can quickly map my V-Drums to the internal sounds.]

Just a check: make sure you have Jamstix 0.99Q
By the way, the release will allow you to send groups of sounds (cymbals, toms, snare...) to different MIDI channels.
We never saw this one since we always close the sub-host window before switching to internal. This will be fixed in the release and thanks for the catch!JamminFool wrote:if you switch jamstix from external vsti back to internal without closing the sub-host window, and then exit SONAR, it crashes.
Can you elaborate some more on that?also, i can't seem to make the key control work.
It only happens with the Cakewalk VST adapter. It has something to do with the window handling in CW VST and the tooltip logic in the compiler that Jamstix is built with. We haven't found a work-around, yet, but the problem does not affect DirectiXer.i'm hoping the tool tips will work in SONAR eventually.
Are you saying when you set it to 10 the MIDI out and export notes are still on 1? Also remember the demo is limited to bars 1-4 on MIDI out and export.[edit: another thing i noticed is that setting the Key in the Mapping page only seems to work on MIDI channel 1. it would be nice to get this to work on other MIDI channels, particularly channel 10, so i can quickly map my V-Drums to the internal sounds.]

yes, i do. thanks.Zauni wrote:Just a check: make sure you have Jamstix 0.99Q
ok. i've played some more with this and i think i am getting it. however, in SONAR, am i supposed to be sending MIDI to both jamstix (for the key control) AND the instrument i'm playing? because that sounds the note (on the instrument) that i'm using to control the start/stop in jamstix. is this correct, or am i just not getting it? i would think i want to assign a note way down on the keyboard that i'm not using in my playing, but then using it sounds the note in the instrument. (in other words, am i supposed to be sending MIDI to both the instrument track AND the jamstix track)? how can i use one controller to play an instrument AND send midi for control to jamstix? Can you elaborate some more on that?also, i can't seem to make the key control work.
i hope i'm clear here, but i have a feeling i'm not.
also, how much delay is there supposed to be between sending the control note and jamstix actually starting with an intro...? it seems like there is an unpredictable delay before the intro starts.
bummer. have you notified cakewalk? i have complained to them about other "features" in their adaptor, but they don't seem to be in a hurry to address them. maybe some pressure from developers would help...It only happens with the Cakewalk VST adapter. actually i was referring to MIDI input (i wanted to map the internal drum sounds to play them using my V-Drums, which i have set to transmit on ch.10), but nevermind...this was a case of operator failure. i got it to work...thanks.Are you saying when you set it to 10 the MIDI out and export notes are still on 1?
