justin3am wrote: Thu Nov 17, 2022 5:57 pm Something really special will arrive on Saturday. Here is a CAD drawing of the first front panel I've designed myself.
It's just a module for converting various voltage standards and different types of jacks, so that I can patch between Buchla, Serge and Euro, nothing special. This is a really simple thing I've been working on but I really struggle with designing front panels so I consider it a big milestone. I just don't have much skill for visual designs... but I think I'm getting the hang of it. Having a framework which helps determine the spacing of jacks and controls has helped a lot.
I'm just using Inkscape for the graphics and Front Panel Express' FPD application for now but now that I have some experience I'm more confident that I'll be able to make a commercial product that I'm happy with. I can't wait to share what I've been working on!

I'll post more in the DIY section once I have the panel in hand and start assembly.

Was going to say it was a bit of a squeeze then realised it was bigger format than Eurorack.justin3am wrote: Thu Nov 17, 2022 5:58 pm I'll post more in the DIY section once I have the panel in hand and start assembly.
Incidentally this tour of a synth museum in LA popped up on YT earlier, guy has some cool gear including (only shown briefly) a huge rack of Surge modules.

Yep, it's a single space Buchla format panel in 4u. My designs will likely be in 19in rack format or possibly 500 series. I do have some synth ideas but I haven't decided whether I'm going to get into modular stuff or not. Most likely I would build standalone boxes, if I went in that direction.
I went to the Vintage Synth museum not long after they moved down here. It's a neat place. It's a shame that you have to pay for an appointment, even if you just want to have a look, but I understand why. My Serge setup is almost as big as theirs now!

Just seen Moog are going to remake the Minimoog Model D.

£5300 lol
This, however, looks more like something I’d buy…
Edit: ah, turns out even that’s £3500. Nope!

With Trigon 6 video they lost me at Ladder filter. IMO it's the most boring type of a filter. So it's not even a "dream-synth" that I could dream about because it's too expensive. Oscillators sound beefy tho.
About Model D reissue, I bought 10 already. For family members and neighbours. Because why not?

Trigon 6 looks like a winner to me, almost like Sequential's take on a MemoryMoog. So far, it doesn't interest me enough that my Prophet 6 should be worried, but I'd only be interested in a module version anyway.
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Trigon 6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Integra-7 | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

En route... will join its twin, {both with black panels} for prerecorded rhythmic, noise, and ambient background duties.

This updated Pams ‘PRO’ Workout looks good, but can’t help thinking they could have added all the new features like named scale quantise, euclidean beats etc in a firmware update to the existing hardware.
I guess the better res screen with added scope capability is a bonus though.

Nothing exciting, but it completes a trifecta with the kick and hats modules I have already
