Shame on you Andy!
It's 1.20 AM here and I just thought I'd go to sleep, but now I'm gonna test v1.016 :x :x

Just kidding)))

Thanks!!!

Wow, there IS a difference.

v1.016 is MUCH sharper on the attack. In a cool way.

However, I think maybe smoother attack might be better for some material, maybe there's a way to make a switch? The real killer would be a way to blend two attack characters, maybe a feature for v1.1?

Andy, WOW just WOW!

I checked how 1.016 works with the examples you provide and it is every bit as good as hardware on those settings!

My only concern is the slower attacks -- when I set attack to 3 or 10, and set fastest release and low threshold (getting around 15-18 dB GR), it makes drums sound very sharp and aggressive, is the hardware so extreme too?

The glue is the only compressor with that level of quality that I can use virtually as many instances as I want without putting a dent in my computer resources. Wht can't developers of the more known plugins do that?

* New: 64-bit Win Vst
Thanks you are a star....

Yep, the hardware sounds like this as well but... The Glue has the Range knob so have a play with it and see if you can dial in something more to taste.

I have tried to pick the best compromise between keeping peoples old settings sounding right and matching the hardware. Having a more advanced control to vary things is a great idea, but I'll leave that sort of thing for a future product which is a more advanced plugin, thanks for the suggestion!

Sonic Charge is run by a very talented and good friend of mine Magnus Lidström. I recently offered all Sonic Charge customers a 33% discount on The Glue - this is the only discount deal I've done. Since Cytomic and Sonic Charge are such small outfits we can't really offer customers discounts on our own product range since we don't have enough products! So instead we plan to help each other out and offer each others customers discounts instead - some time in the future all Cytomic customers can hopefully expect similar discount offers.

Woops, I forgot to say in my original v1.0.16 news item:

* New: updated needle drawing with more accurate motion blur
* New: optional peak needle, click on the VU to toggle

The peak needle in particular is very handy when doing limiting applications as you can see more exactly the peak compression amount instead of having to rely on just the rms needle.

I own Microtonic, but I was unaware of this offer. I can see nothing about it on either your site or theirs. Is it still running, and how would I take advantage of it if so?

The offer was emailed out to users. Please contact Sonic Charge with your Microtonic serial number and they will find your discount code for you and possibly update your email address at the same time :)

Andy, if it is possible to do without disclosing your know-how's, can you please tell what did you do to improve attack behavior of the Glue?
I remember you said, you've used advanced equation solver, was that the key?
I'm asking because there's a lot of talk about how to get close to analog sound you have to focus on nonlinearities and stuff, but from what I gathered that's opposite of what you do -- getting the virtual circle do what it was planned to do without imperfections.

Being a novice/hobbyist bought glue a few weeks. Installed the 64bit today and been playing with it in a few tracks. Messing around using it in channel strips and masterout. It really works for me and I'm stickinng with it. I know there's a lot of threads on the net comparing it to waves and such. For my money it really does the job written on the label. Wish I discovered it earlier. Great product, great price and nice to see a solid developer delivering top notch goods. You deserve success, sterling result and thank you.
